  1. Hey I defended you guys the other day I was talking about liking your show and he said well yea but they have all the tools in the world I explained to him that it takes years of experience and you must be very smart to use all those tools

  2. i been getting the 450 hp 454 with the 02xx trans for free from 6,000 to 58,000 miles on them that is with a stock carb and intake with high flow heads they come with steel crank heavy rods 10.5 to 1 compression but if u change the intake and put a 850 it really comes alive

  3. I'm currently trying to build a low-budget 454 bbc from an early 90's 1 ton Chevy dually. I have found that it's a factory roller cam motor which is a plus. I'm going to try to do most of it myself seeing we no longer have a local machine shop around. I'd like to get between at least 350-375 to possibly 425 hp out of it. What would you suggest for a good cam choice and intake? I'm certain you would say 1st thing to change the pistons. Small dome? Thanks! I love your channel!

  4. Why won't the mfrs go back to engines with 1 center cam, push rods and hyd lifters, and 2 valve rocker arms instead of all this multiple chain drive massive heads, twin cams, multiple valves, engines of today ? What was wrong with the simplicity from the past ? Can the computer module not run that type of engine ?

  5. Dont know if you answer such. How often does a head need resurfacing when dismantled when otherwise properly working? So when before dismantling it shows no signs of warping.

  6. I had a L 88 back in 1975, it was balanced and blueprinted. I could turn that engine to 7500 every time I wanted. Even missed 3rd gear once and the tach went to 8000. It was the best rat I ever had. It lasted 4 years, and when I sold it the guy ran it a couple qts low on oil, and ruined it

  7. Thanks for telling people to wait to change their oil, keeps us in business. Please tell people more stupid things, like they only have to do it once a year and don't need antifreeze in the summer

  8. I got a really interesting question and it's not as dumb as it sounds. I noticed you polished the top of those Pistons which is a good idea. I'm curious about smoothing the edges of the dome. Instead of having sharp edges is most of those don't have rounding the edges a little bit. Would there be any advantage to that? The main reason I ask is I'm not a big fan of those domes in the piston. I prefer a flat top piston but with that 24° valve angle that's a little hard to do to get compression ratios of 10 or more to :1

  9. Hey guys I'm putting my bigblock 427 60 over in my 88 monte carlo SS what headers was it that were used on the monte carlo you guys built I am also going to use your trick on notching the a/c box on the firewall if you could give me the brand and part number for the headers I would really appreciate it thank you Rick427.
