  1. This is probaly in the top 10 of chevy motors. It just goes and goes and its just a short block V8 with 2 cylinders lopped off, so easy to work on – great motor.

  2. there is almost no aftrmarket support for the 4.3 because its easier to swap with a V8, you get a lot more power with less work and less money, its too bad because there are some nice 4.3 vehicles out there, Id love to spruce mine up and don't want to swap it, its original low miles but wouldn't mind some bolt on mods for more power

  3. ALWAYS antisieze on the turbo mount nuts. After years they will otherwise need to be heated red hot or cut.
Add water injection. Methanol only for freeze protection. With water injection you can add a couple of degtees timing and lean out the air fuel ratio a bit.

  4. Love these v6s. Nissan and honda have v6 as their top trim cars(nsx and their race cars, and gtr) and they can bring it. I think that american v6s dont get the same aftermarket love because they already have v8. But if you have a turbo and you have a v6…. Its a no brainer!

  5. @POWERNATION Please do a naturally aspirated high rpm screamer build on this engine next. Much more aggressive cams than before you turbocharged it , high compression and maybe a lightweight flywheel to make this thing sound lively🙏

  6. My neighbor and I both bought new 1988 S-10s when the 4.3 first showed up on dealer showrooms. His only lasted 100k miles and his friend rebuilt it and stuck a Holley 4bbl on it. Not for performance, just drivability. My 1988 ran like a champ into the 180K miles and I sold it to a buddy. He drove it for years. Those were great motors in their day. The V8 in my Silverado has been amazing. Fifteen trouble-free years and counting.
