this part is expensive because: A. its a rare car – not many out there so not many parts in salvage yards. and B. because its a crap Audi Brand car. piece of junk. its a vw product.
The reason you payd a exdosionet price is coz what we call a come and rip me off kinda face that's why it cost you 500 for a bit of moulded plastic

You spend 500$ on plastic, I spend 500$ on a 250bhp turbo car and buy a match pair for another 750$ with all the plastic pieces I could dream of.
you could buy it from the UK its quite cheaper, I have the S3 3 doors. you can buy it from them there is a group on facebook called Audi S3 owners °sth like that°! the parts are used ! cheaper
People who complain about parts prices are just annoying…
Don't buy German
Samrac I have a Audi S3 with satin silver mirror covers the drivers side got scratched in a car park. Asked Audi how much to replace the cover and I was quoted at £342. Cosmetic parts are a complete rip off and am now in the process of selling the vehicle as I really don't want to know the price of some of the other parts on it.
In China you can get those with extra fixing kit for $100.

I know this is an old video, but after buying an S4 recently, I came to realize that there are some decent quality Audi knock off grills, or even RS style main grills all over aliexpress for cheap. Bought They have a pair of the S3 fog grills like in this video for $60 right now with free shipping. (Search Audi S3 grill, and you'll find them). The quality on my S4 main grill was great for $200 shipped from China. Just something to think about if anybody else is doing an Audi S series. Thanks for the vids. The RS7 vids got me to sub.
The expense is due more to allocated overhead rather than simple raw material costs.

Hey man, great videos you got. I got a question for you. I'm thinking of buying a BMW from auction, it looks like a stupid hit in the front, only the left fender came off and the left front light; the bumper is hanging but still in decent condition , but the vehicle does not start and it's an insurance company selling it. You think i should pull the trigger for it? Of course not going to put a lot of money into bidding it since I have to think about the worst case scenario.

Cold starts are only applicable for V8s and above. Not some 5 cylinder SB. I'm embarrassed for you.

Parts? For my s3 repair ( not salvage) it saved a fortune. Wings, liners, light, grill and loads more.
Those $500
Air grills are More expensive as they have air holes and an air guide in too unlike the blocked off s line ones. (If that is any consolation) 😉
