Love ’em or hate ’em you can’t deny that Mustangs have a place in history!

And when it comes to pony cars, none are more classic that the 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Cobra Jet. The proof? Our viewers voted in our Top 10 Muscle Cars poll and it was in the top 3!

Mach 1’s were popular because they were classy and offered different engine packages and options. However, it was the 428 Cobra Jet that made a statement. It’s as if the Ford design team combined sexy, sleek, sinister, and sporty all in one vehicle. The new Mach 1’s came with all the goods – classic Mustang body lines, a fastback top, and a rear spoiler. Side scoops along with head lamps finish it off. A functional shaker hood scoop and the iconic two-tone Mach 1 badging are the icing on the cake.

This big block monster was a force to be reckoned with on the streets and on the track!

  1. My father had a 69 428 SCJ R-code with the drag pack here in Australia he bought in the late 70's. In Australia this was one hell of a car to have. Most of our muscle cars were around only 302-350 cubes and had 4 doors!
