You re used the ring and pinion… you have to check what the back lash is before removal because the gears have a pattern they are worn into. If you go setting up used gears to a new backlash “to get it to spec” your going to cause problems having the ring and pinion running in a different pattern. I’m disappointed you guys did it that way. It will cost a diy a riskier result
