This video will be split into 3 parts. As the later parts become available, links will be posted here to the other videos. Why do I need 3 parts to show this process? Because you need to remove the entire dash and HVAC to access the blower motor in this vehicle. Yes, it does seem extreme, but the truth is this happens more often than not. That said, in part 1 we cover the removal of the dash and HVAC assembly. I ended up taking out a little more than I needed to because it’s been some time since I did this job. That means that the stuff you see disassembled in the video that I don’t show details of, you shouldn’t worry about. You really only need to detach the wiring harnesses from under both sides of the dash pad. You do not need to do anything with the instrument cluster or the other switches and trim on the dash pad. With that aside, this job takes an experienced technician the better part of a day. If you’re not experienced, it may take up to 2 days to complete.
Also know that you’ll have to evacuate the AC system before you begin as you will need to open it to access the blower motor assembly. In all, it’s good dirty fun.

That is no doubt the best video on removing a air handler blower motor box on and Acura. I have to do the same thing on my 97 Acura TL. And I have no garage to do it in, and is December.
I like Brian and you to interact more while filming. Would be cool
Thanks for all your videos, it’s been a great help, I need a huge favor from you. I need to know we’re I can find the high pressure valve from the air conditioning from vigor 93. My email tecsajb@gmail.com
Well my time has come. My AC evaporator core is leaking freon so I now get to do tnis task and replace it. Problem in I want to also replace the blower motor and heater core while I'm in here but they're discontinued and I haven't found them online aftermarket yet. I did find the AC evap core on Rock Auto though oddly.
all new cars are a joke ?? shitty enginers / no room to do anything // let them work on all this stuff ?? they would change there designs real quick ?/
Love your video's. They have helped me considerably on a few projects. I just picked up a 93 acura vigor with a non working hvac blower motor. Problem is I'm having a problem locating a replacement. Any ideas on where I can look for another. Thanks for your time
That is actually a pretty easy dashboard to remove. The most stupidly difficult and cumbersome dashboard I have every dealt with was the one of a JK Wrangler. Horribly complex.
08-19-18 just did the blower motor in my vigor. had to get 1 from a wrecking yard because they aren't made anymore. thanks for the set of vids
When it comes to Acura's slash honda's your the truth
I can't imagine havning to do this. Thank f*ck it's an easy procedure on my '13 Jetta. The DIY video is only about 3 minutes long. 🙂

To take the carpet out do you have to remove the whole dashboard am having a hard time taking it off close to the radio
I know this is an older video, but damn. I thought replacing a heater core on a mid 80s Crown Vic was a bitch…..
I would have left it
I sold my 93 Vigor when my blower went out, because of all the work it would take to replace it.
Cameraman – Is that a quarter
Erick – Why yes it is
Cameraman – were up too 28 cents.
Lol
1996 3.2 TL — in order to replace the blower motor resistor only, does it still require removal of the dash, or is there an easier access to it?
I was nervous when you were taking the crash pad off. one time I was doing that and my middle finger nail caught the steering column bracket and I lost a finger nail.
damn
Damn that's a nightmare job and it gotta be done if the climate is cold.
My 2000 Acura blower motor went out, came here to see how hard it would be to replace….guess it's time for a new ride!
Hey my 93 vigor is making a crazy loud sound in the back the rear wheels while driviving any idea what it might be?
for the love of god the blower motor in the vigor was put in the stupidest place ever!@ i had one i had to tear everything apart omg
I own a 94 Acura vigor ls, And its currently in the shop having this done . i thought all this was crazy seeing my car all apart like this . i feel much better knowing that it must be done to get it fixed . HOWEVER what i was told would take 7,8 hours has been 6 days and counting . they have the new parts and yet it sits with no further work being done . and the guy working on it wont be in for another 3 days .
My god. My blower motor in my 94 prelude is going out, sometimes I have to kick under the dash on the passenger side to get it to turn on. If it does go out I hope its not as difficult to replace as this seems to be.
Wow those engineers really had there heads ups their rear ends when they designed that!
Even if you don't have power seats it would be smart to check for wires under it. If you have an SRS system in your car there will be a wire under it. So give it a look before you yank it out.
This is batshit crazy just to replace a blower motor…
OMG. That is a nightmare repair job. How did you remember how to put everything back to together? You must have had over 1000 parts. I would never try something this labor intensive.
Hi there. I am far from a mechanic but with the education and information from your videos I was able to clean my blower motor myself. I have a 95 Honda Prelude and it has been making noise with AC/heat for years and I had an idea that the root cause was the blower motor. It sure was! I really appreciate your videos Eric!
Hey Eric I don't think this would ever happen but what if when you were removing screws what would you do if one was stripped
Hey, my friend's 95 jetta has a electrical burning smell coming from what we assume is the blower motor… I'm just curious if it might be the resistor and not the motor as the motor still works. Is there a way to diagnose this without taking the dash apart? Thanks for all the awesome videos and great website. Hope you find the time to check this post.
Hey Eric, do you know how many motor mounts does the Vigor have. and also the transmission mount. cause I have to change them ASAP. thanks
i recently replaced the blower motor on an Alfa Romeo 166 and that was a right nightmare. It's attached from the engine bay so i didn't have to take the dash apart. But i did have to completely remove the wiper mechanism with the motor and everything, them disassemble the box where the air goes through the cabin airfilter to finally reach the mounts for the blower motor. Took me 7-8 hours to get it done. I hope i never have to do that again..
excellent job to start with and your dedication to teach is above any price, thanks a lot seeing you to have the same vigor since you started to show us your great tutorials where for lots of ordinary block who has passion to be mechanic some day carry great value thanks a lot HAPPY NEW YEARÂÂÂ
Hey Eric I saw that you took out the wood panels on the front of the dash, how did those come out?
