1. Please don't tap your plugs to gap them. A proper plug gapper with wire gauges instead of flat gauges used for valve lash will have an electrode bender.

8. It’s most likely the drive shaft splines not the rear diff. disconnect the draft shaft after the rear guibo. it splines into diff. Remove the nut it’s reverse thread and inspect the splines on the drive shaft. I seen this happen at the dealer on a customers 750i alpina . -bmw tech.
