This video covers the cabin air filter replacement on 2nd generation Toyota Tacoma’s (2005-2015). Some parts of the procedure will vary with newer models, but the basics are the same. Parts of this procedure may also apply to some first generation Tacoma’s as well.

It’s a simple process and doesn’t require a lot of tools. It can also save you a great deal of money replacing this maintenance item yourself. Not to mention it will help keep the air inside your vehicle free from contaminants.

The average replacement interval is every 15K, sometimes as low as 10K based on the air quality where the vehicle is being used.

  1. Fkn agency wants to charge me $100 to change this. Fkn Dicks. I’m glad I saw this.

  2. Someone at some point decided the damper on my truck wasn't necessary because mine was missing, lol. Oh well, saved me two steps.

  3. I just watched a 10 minute clip on how to do this. Your 2 minute explanation told me everything I needed to know. Thanks for the brevity!

  4. Thank you much sir for the how to video. I’m about to replace mine and you helped me greatly. Well done . 👍

  5. Eric, can't thank you enough for making a concise video on how to change the cabin air filter. Other DIY guys could learn a lot from you…namely, less is more!

  6. I just got a 2007 Tacoma and the cabin filter was the original factory one. Problem is the truck nearly has 200k miles. 🤢

  7. Thank you!!! I have to drive a 2007 Toyota Tacoma and previous driver really stunk it up with cigarette smoke. Will changing this help me have cleaner air blowing out of the AC bc the ac air smells like cigarettes?.
