In this video I show you how to remove the engine, transmission, and front subframe from a first generation Honda Pilot. This is my first step in replacing the transmission, servicing the engine, and reconditioning the front suspension and subframe on this vehicle.
I also deal with a broken shift cable on this vehicle and share how I repaired it.
In summary, it’s pretty much everything you needed to know about reconditioning everything that drives and supports the front of a Honda Pilot. I hope you find the information useful and entertaining.

"Power steering juice"
Thank u for all knowledge you give me greetings from Sweden 😄😄🇸🇪
Been loving the series as I have the same exact car but sadly I'm probably going to have to scrap her as the subframe is rusting out like this one was.
I mentioned your cart earlier today I'm glad it works perfect hope you will build me 11 day
1:10 — too bad that's not the Brent Spence kinda bridge.. LOL
Ope
how satisfying that engine cart/stand was I love when people have wins!
Great stuff ðŸ‘ÂÂ
You are a true mechanic ! GREAT JOB
HATS OFF TO YOU THATS A LOT OF WORK BUT IT`S GOING TO BE SECOND HAND BRAND NEW!ðŸ˜ÂÂðŸ˜ÂÂ

The "flipping" cart brought you enough joy that it jumped through the screen. :))
Love your videos and suddle snarky comments!💪ðŸÂ» Greetings from Norway
I can not wait until I can see the next part(s) Great and very professional project!
If your building it er rebuilding it, it will last another twenty years ðŸ˜ÂÂ✌ï¸ÂÂ🤘🤘😎🇨🇦
And how much 4 the reman trans??
whomever is gonna get this pilot is getting a great reconditioned vehicle from Eric!
45:05 Practice for the olympic rowing squad??
Great content and a good one to watch BUT….even doing the labor yourself, that seems like. TON of money to invest in a rusty 200,000 miles out 18 year old car!
In 10 minutes of video I got served 10 ads, 5 of them unskipable. At number ten I stopped the vid. I dont know if its the new TV i've got, or new ad policies, but these many ads makes watching vids very frustrating.
13:07 Your light identifies as "helpful" haha
Yeah good job and nice invention home made car for engine and trans ðŸ™ÂÂ
Thanks!
I don't encourage a man of age more than 40 years to work as a mechanist due to its cumbersome …
Thank you Eric well worth the waiting to watch your wonderful videos I am watching from South Africa
Some scary past history. How did you buy this vehicle?
Seeing all the obstacles along the way, I think the hero of the story was you, Eric!
Eric you don’t no this but I’m living my best mechanic life through your video’s! Thank you for hard work. Be well my friend ðŸ™ÂÂ😎
I love your excitement over your cart you made. Great job.
A Prelude! HA!
I always stretch the seat belt and Wrap it on the bottom of steering wheel loop it and Attach it to the Seat belt clamp to hold steering wheels straight just a tip on what I do the steering wheel Clamp works good also @EricTheCarGuy
Can’t wait to see the next video. My son has the same vehicle
🤣 Thanks Previous Mechanic! JERK!! I laugh at your comments and recall my similar moments when repairing vehicles.
He's back!
Just in time for lunch break!
