B Series Timing Belt Video
EricTheCarGuy is back again and I have another Honda Timing Belt Video for you. This time we’re covering the ‘B’ series engine found in the Honda/Acura Integra, some Civic models, some Prelude models, as well as early CRV’s. This video was recorded using a 1999 Integra but the basics covered here will translate over to other non-VTEC applications of the ‘B’ series engine from Honda. You CAN use it for the VTEC equipped ‘B’ series blocks however there will be some subtle differences but many of the processes are the same. Included in the video is the replacement of the timing belt and water pump, I briefly touch on the replacement of the engine seals both cam and crank but the actual replacement of those seals is not specifically covered in the video. I even ran into trouble with both the timing belt and AC belt being the wrong parts and as a result I show you how to identify those parts so that you can avoid the same trouble. Also covered is how to properly tension the timing belt for smooth quite operation, breaking the crank bolt loose, a complete tool list, how to safely lift the vehicle and where to place the jack stands, adjusting the valves, bleeding the cooling system, and much much more. Paying for the info is fine. The prosecution of the video was meh at best and you even say so yourself.But the tool list and tips are invaluable. But not being able to put it on my phone draws the line. So i converted it and got past whatever block was in place. I paid for it its going on my phone. If you're good at something, don't do it for free. My wifes Integra timing belt snapped a couple of years back and I purchased a video manaul of this bloke. I sorted the problem step by step with an ipad and my tools. Saved me a shit load in labour by doing it myself for a small fee. All these negative comments about a fee to purchase a in-depth vid. Be realistic people, ffs. Probably wouldn't even attempt if it was free. Just having a cry for the sake of it. Whats a little cash to save thousands? Fucking whiners. Cheers for the tutorial.

hey eric. i have a 1990 acura integra. so thank you for your videos. im having a heating issue but i cant figure it out. i just changed the thermostat. my radiator works. and i got no leaks. do you think its a blown head gasket or the water pump?

Can i still follow these steps to replace a timing belt even if the belt failed ?…in my case instead of the belt ripping the teeth fell off where the crankshaft is so it just spins and the cames well before i removed them i marked where they were but there UP markings on the cam didnt match up in positions (exhaust was at about 90degree and the intake about 180) ive already removed the head and took itbbot to a shop everything turned out fine now im just nervous about putting the belt back on and adjusting the timing,,,some people say to turn them counter clockwise one full turn then put then in dead center and others say i can just turn them till there in up center im confused, ,,can anyone help me

What would it cost? Maybe $12 or $16 depending on stream or download? Most of us probably piss away more than that each week on the vending machines at work. So for a complicated job like this, even $20 is well worth it. Replacing timing belts on DOHC V6 engines is NO joke. If there is a video for my car (97 acura CL with 3.0 vtec) I will download it. Not sure if the 3.2 and 3.5 are pretty much the same.

I just called canadian tire (Its a bad service shop we have in canada) and the guy told me it will be around $900 to replace my water pump and timing belt. WOW! screw that, Im gonna buy this video and do it myself. When I do ill re post how well it went for me.

The A, B, D, H, F. are the Series of the block the engine is. The numbers are the liters of Displacement. and the Final Letters/numbers are there to determine if its V-tec or not. As well as the Region its for. So if you have a H22A1 It is a H series at 2.2L or 2190cc ( they Round Up) A1 is Vtec And A7 is Non Vtec By the way BB2 is the Chassis Code for the Honda Prelude.
Any idea on why a b18a is slow reving while accelerating but smooth on deceleration? I put it in time with all the required marks and on TDC of compression stroke. I am stuck at this and can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.
