Will It RUN AND DRIVE after 20+ years? Turbo Buick Grand National! – Car Mod Pros Portal

I’m going to attempt to drive this car home, 400 miles. This is a ultra rare 1986 Buick Grand National with a factory turbocharger. These were the fastest production cars produced back in the day. This particular one has been off the road for over 2 decades, so I’m going to see if I can get it running and driving.

  1. I was in high school when these came out and my grandparents bought one, they had no clue what they had. They lived in Michigan and could not keep it on the road in the winter, so they took it to Florida during the winter. I never got to drive in it.

  2. I am a great admirer of your content, but I must respectfully disagree with your opinion on American cars. While I appreciate the classic designs of American cars from the 1960s to the 1990s, I find it difficult to agree that the Grand Nationals and Monte Carlos are the nicest cars ever designed. Although they may not be to my personal taste, I can acknowledge the craftsmanship and engineering that went into their creation.

  3. what i learned from these videos is that cars actually can last forever if you take proper care of it! Some parts eventually will wear out and will need replacement but the engine if maintained properly can last a very very long time. People just want a brand new shiny car

  4. You should carry a jug of Evaporust that you can buy at O’Reilly’s with you to soak the rusty parts in. It’ll remove all rust in a few hours and it’s reusable. They even make a gel for the rust parts you can’t remove to soak.

    LOVE THE CHANNEL!!!

  5. Such a great car. I love those. However, my dream truck is an El Camino. I’ve never wanted something so bad. For many reasons. Personal And sentimental. Plus it’s just a super sexy truck. But Grand National would be my 2nd dream car. They’re crazy expensive!

  6. A guy I went to HS with has a few of these stuffed in the back of tractor trailers. He’s had them for years… any gear head that’s over 40 (personal over 50) Knows exactly what these cars are. Low or high mileage…. Great find and great car. Good for you bro.

  7. I sawr/seen only one flaw in Ken's perfect Grand National…the right and left outer seat back panels have sun exposure fading the black to purple-oidishness. He can Save on those easy in a few minutes. Buy a can of SEM satin black Color Coat vinyl, plastic, carpet spray. Mask off the offensive zones after prep with cleaners then lacquer thinner, dry. Warm up can nice fir no splattered sprayin. Apply mist coats brushed in between coats as be a wroatten on the can substructions! Soon will look all black like the original instead of ugly faded.

  8. If you want todays gasoline to last for YEARS , add 1 oz of 2 stroke oil per gallon and it won't go bad. That old lawn mower starts year after year. 1 OZ of oil per gallon won't trip any codes either. Not even in very expensive high end European cars. I use it in everything I own. From old Chevy's to newer Porsche 911 s. No rebuilding carbs on 4 stroke dirt bikes. Avoid the whole varnishing thing with a little bit of oil. I'm sure you know that trick D.
