Think this abandoned rusty beyond repair 1978 Pontiac Firebird will start? And if so, think the car will actually make it 700 miles home?

  1. You're a good guy, funny, smart, capable… but please… don't bring these rigs through touch type (rollers and such) car washes. There was even someone right behind you no less, poor fella. Probably got your removed quarter panel, which was now stuck in the roller brushes, repeatedly smashed, scraped, and scratched against their rig. Over and over. Along with what needles and large debris it did get off of ya. They all went to the next folks…. those are bad enough in general, but it's the folks that bring bad stuff through them that make them terrible. And this is that… you're the guy in this case.

  2. Hi Derek,
With the body being that badly rusted what do you do with it when you get it back home?

Do you you scrap the body and save what you can from it?

  3. The confidance and enthusiasm for the chevy small block.
Vs whatever you call the chevy with all the epa knueture valves disgust and depression.

  4. I've always wondered why you never rent a traitor that way you'll have a place to cook you chow and do your busies and have a place to crash. Just thinking if you're going to be there a couple of days.

  5. Just curious…you said there was evidence of water in the oil, but you cranked it to see oil pressure, knowing that the oil pump would be sucking from a potential swimming pool at the bottom of the pan. You're not concerned at all about filling the bearings full of non-petroleum-based H2O?

  6. Really enjoyed this one ! Yea unfortunately that body rot is bad . Maybe save some of the interior , hood , deck lid and definitely keep the engine for another car .
