  1. What’s surprising is i have a 1990 Silverado that has a bad head gasket going on 5 years, getting gas into the coolant and have never had any kind of heat issue. It did randomly overheat when the exhaust would accumulate at the thermostat. Drilling a really small hole into the thermostat plate remedied that problem. I just been using it as my winter beater, no idea how it hasn’t blown up yet

  2. I got a 08 mercury marquis, I have put a new intake on it, but it keeps blowing the gasket on the two cylinder on the driver side,in the back the intake in the gaskets are separate. This is the second time I have put a gasket on it and it’s leaking antifreeze down into the spark plug and it’s like it’s missing fire like it out of time I know what it calling the issue because water gets in the cylinder, it get no fire The car is jerking when you give it gas because of water in the cylinder

  3. Good job covering all of the most common AC fail points. There's one that I thought I'd mention that's not real common, but I have seen more than once, and that's a system that's been over-charged.

Say a fella's got a slow leak so every spring he just automatically chucks a can or two of refrigerant at it except this time he adds three thinking it will last him all through the season. The pressure switch detects too much pressure (as opposed to not enough) and will not turn on the compressor.

Lesson: Always use a gauge when charging, preferably a manifold but even one of those cheap single dial chargers that you can get at WallyWorld is better than nothing.

Haven't seen this one too often, but often enough that I thought I'd mention it.

  4. For the past few years my driver's side blows cold when the heat is on. Then weeks into the fall/winter it'll magically start working. No issues with the AC in summer ever. Just the heat on the driver's side. Any ideas as to what's causing all this?

  5. Eric, you look so good, I am really happy to see you doing well, you definitely dropped like 10 years! Thank you for all your help and wisdom through the years that I'm sure inspired thousands of people, including me!
