CarMax offered a fair market trade-in value for this total pile of Crap 2008 Mercedes-Benz S550. In this video I show you everything they missed, and how much repairs would cost. Don’t get screwed!!! Get a Pre-Purchase Inspection.

Do any of you have a friend that should have the nickname the "Car Destroyer?"
This is an ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT video!
Hello 👋 Lucky Alex … I was in California and coming about 90mph , this Mercedes 600 series passes me , was that model a V – 12 ? It really looked full size , I will never forget it , maybe it was a direct German import . I've never seen anything or a model like it 😮
I came across a 2012 Mercedes S550 4Matic for 8500. Owner says timing belt has been changed last year and currently has 120k miles. Do you recommend this year of S550?
Benz are a maintenance head ache for the consumer but a gold mine for the benz dealers because they know they can make lots of money off of those sensors that keep failing in the Benz vehicles. Benz vehicles are for rich consumers with deep pockets not for regular owners who are living from pay check to pay check, but Benz cars from Germany are higher quality than cars made by GMC, Ford and chrysler. American made cars are engineering to fail. that why we keep coming our with new models every year.
Don't depend on the dealer to do an honest Pre-Purchase inspection, in less than 5k miles I've spent 5k on repairs. Unfortunately, my area 180k population, no good Mercedes shops exist.
This was a very bitter video
I can't stand to see people that just let these cars just go to waste.
your friend a pos for doing that to a s- class
I dont belive it this must have over 400k miles on it
So this car in other words is just a car to get around as long as the engine and transmission is working. Lol
I had 2007 S class that was in WAY better shape than this & the previous owner turned it into a $3000 repair right off the bat. The 2005 M class I have now was much better off than that clunker & still needed about 2K to get sorted. They're great cars if you know how to stay out of the money pit but I would stay far away from any 2006-2012 Merc. BTW, I was quoted $6K for my 2005 ML350 from Carmax & I know that they're about $1500 off. I was almost ready to hand it over right then & there. it only has 140k miles on it but there's no way in heck I'd pay $6K for it. I'll let them scam themselves after I get a year or 2 out of it.
Mercedes is a piece of junk
You’re completely right. I never ever bought a car unseen. Except once. A mercedes E63. In another state. I have been very lucky, the car they sold me is/was as described. Perfect. But, don’t take the chance just for peace of mind. I have to admit I was pretty nervous picking up that car.
My brother is also a "car destroyer." My mom (God rest her soul) gave him 2 cars & I also have given him 2 cars with absolutely nothing wrong with them! I don't think any of those cars lasted for more than 2 years with him owning/driving!
When buying used, get the extended warranty and ring up the repairs.
$10,000 is not bad for an $100,000 car, no problem
Better buy a cheap new car than buy an expensive used car
I really hate that your friend doesn't appreciate this beautiful car 🙁
I will stick with Toyota Lexus FOR THE MOST PART!
