Here is a good reason to change your fuel filter. After 300,000 miles on the same fuel filter, I cut it in half so we can see how dirty the filter is and so we can do a flow test! I also check a fuel filter with 130k miles and another with 30k miles to compare the three fuel filters.

Also – use decent quality filters, not the ones made out of toilet paper 😉
wouldn't the check engine light go on if i pulled the fuel pump fuse while it is running?
Lil ol me would've hacked that thing with a grinder🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Would've gotten some serious injuries 😶
I wonder if fuel additives would help clean the filter
Wow it's amazing that windstar is still going strong
Never seen an oil filter like that in my life.
Great video about fuel filters Chrisfix but my worry is on about the dirt in the fuel tank
Good stuff!
Nice dude.
chris i would find another fuel station to fill up , the one you are presently using is providing you with sub standard gasoline , looks like they have corroded steel fuel tanks letting in water
how many miles are on the van now
excellent scientific demonstration!
Wow, a special tool to remove a fuel filter under the car…and some think modernity is making things easier
racist
In Bangladesh we change it after 3k kilometres
Dayum, my car is at 276,000KM (171,498 miles). I've only owned my car for around 2 years and never changed my filter, I don't think the previous owners did either. Might go and buy a new one, thanks for the video.
Do you still have this van? I haven’t seen it on your videos lately
I usually change mine once a year
Great job! Thanks. I am gooing to change it.
Ive been having problems with aftermarket fuel filters on my Toyota . the fuel runs parallel with the pleats of paper and not perpendicular like the ones you are showing and it has caused me headaches.
Here in Iraq , we change filter every 5000Km
How does a wind star do 300,000 miles? Mine barely made it to 100k before the trans barfed up it’s guts. And I DID take good care of it and change my trans fluid, engine oil, brake pads, tires.
3:06 Why does the newer the filter the older it looks
Chris fix makes me want to get a mustang and an electronic torque wrench and go drifting
HOLY CRAP!! I'm about to change the Fuel Filter on my 2007 Ranger with 165,000!! Let's see how it turns out!!
ummm…. i think there is a check engine light on the van and the van fuel filter it looks like that there is a burned out fuel filter
I like you ChrisFix.
I love to watch all of your videos ðŸ˜ÂÂ

Muito bom amigo .. gostei do vÃÂÂdeo, um abraço
my 2007 acura RDX w/ turbo has also 130k
I just changed mine in my 92 ford ranger and holy crap I'm not sure when it was last changed cause I just recently bought it from a family member but the gas that came out of that thing was nasty bad… She runs a loot better now and seems to have more power! Thanks to this video this made me change it as soon as I saw this and I feel way better knowing I have and that its new and clean. I think the truck really likes it lol
Never fill your vehicle while the gas station is getting a new batch of fuel. The new fuel will disturb sediment in the ground tanks and you will pump it into your vehicle. Station fuel pumps have their own filters but think about how much fuel runs through them.
Change your fuel filter every 2 years. Like he shows a clogged filter can stop flow which can throw a service code and then you will be working on an engine when the filter is the problem.
