Make spark plug wire looms out of zip ties. When you replace your spark plug wires, odds are you will break a wire loom or two. Sometimes it is hard to find special wire looms or looms for your application so a cheap yet effective way to protect your plug wires from chaffing and melting against the exhaust manifold is to use zip ties. It also makes your engine compartment very neat and organized!

Random question; does it matter how many plug holders/loom you use?
@chrisfix I just did this on my 95 f150 xlt and it looks great!! Something I’ll always remember how to do and I’ll always remember who showed me how to do it. Thank you so much for all you do. 😊ðŸšâ€â€ÃƒÂ°Ã…¸â€ºÂÂ
Great Idea
Chris Fix is the MAN!!!
Great
Bravo……..Great tip Mr. Fix !
You know, this wire loom idea could also work for other applications..
TV cables
That mess of cables in that room where the WiFi and other electronic connections are
Wires behind the walls (if easy and safe enough to do)
Can anyone think of more?
Hey Chrisfix, will you make a video some day on wire looming your electrical wires in your engine bay guide and the best wire loom/ tape to use? Thanks!
This is exactly what I needed !!!!!!!!!!! Thanks
How you unlock it!!?
I had to clean up all the LAN and power cables when offices got interior renewed, since I’m the only one who know how to “plug the cablesâ€ÂÂ. 😩 Guess what I used : the Zip ties, I remembered this vid and worked great. If the company need to swap one of the cables? None of my problem, I’ll quit. Thanks for the tip
Hey, . something I can still do at my old age! BTW, my bug was officially 54yrs old last month… AND, the guy who sold it to me called last week to congradulate LucilleBug's 54th birthday… still running strong after all these years – Thnx to Mike Smith at Toyota of LaCrescenta (CA), formerly 1960 – 94 at Bob Smith VW, Hollywood, CA (where I picked up my new car May 21, 1966).
Oh man this is awesome!
Boy, that middle wire is about ready to take offa thu grill, ain't it!
great trick Chris
Youve come a long way! But your older videos still end up being handy! Thanks chris
2020 gamg finding some sparkplug loom information
Cool tip bro
Would the zip ties not melt?
1 zip tie on the old bracket would have been a better idea. Also, I havent tried yet, but I think if you use one zip tie you can weave it over and under the 3 wires then reverse and over an under again before locking.
That's so cool. Thanks brother for posting this video. It was very helpful.
Speaking of the interference from the spark plug wire.
If wires are low ohms
Or higher ohms. Does the low ohms get better spark and have more interference with other vehicle components as … ignition module on an 2005 3.8 gm supercharged engine?
Would be safer to keep stock oem acdelco replacement with higher ohms ?
Awesome advice..
Always said I wish I would have invented the tie rap.
Very clever, thank you !
