In this video, I start rebuilding the world’s fastest Cobra like it’s 1999! The Mustang was abandoned over 20 years ago with only 17,000 miles and in this episode, we remove the engine and take it apart to discover exactly what happened. I also bought a new used engine site unseen that we tear into and wait until you see what I find! Enjoy some SVT content and thanks for watching!

Pro tip, if you knock on your rod cap it wont knock on you 😂😂
Im definitely buying a fire thingy….
27:01 – You should never put your face right next to the part your trying to leverage up on.
You air, tear down an engine, the same way my 5 year old would. Got half a header off, removed the valve cover, oh look, a timing chain! Hardware flying across the room
DONT USE THAT FUEL PUMP!! If it truly makes 800 hp crank or at the wheels you want to run a dual pump hat (2003-2004) cobras had dual pumps I believe and you’d want the fuel system to be a return style fuel system. If you don’t want a return style fuel system then get a BAP and get rid of that inline pump!! We don’t run that stuff anymore FOR A REASON!
Isn’t that a turbocharger? 11:27
If it’s Manley rods you might have a MMR built engine
Did you say super light drive shaft because of my thighs lol your thighs are in your leg 😂
Buy a head skimmer and honing machine will pay for itself so many forsale as shops close down as most people just replace these days
You do know that there are hand tools instead of power tools…..and you don't need to heat up stuff.
What happened to the cool half Asian guy
The DSM but if i had to choose, Cobra..Definitely a Cobra.
10,000 miles, zero oil changes…
I've seen bumpers with 'COBRA' and 'SVT' but they might be aftermarket, or different dealer options.
Alex wheres petter???
Holy Fock. Talk about a misleading lie. I really wish you weren't such phuckin rhetard. 😂
What happened to Peter?
F-body LS for sure!
I am really curious to see how that happened. It is rare for a Cobra to fail that way. Maybe the oil pump died (weak point on those engines) and the timing chain tensioners collapsed. I would recommend billet oil pump gears and a good damper like ATI. In any case, nobody made an aftermarket crank for the Cobra because they were forged from factory, and could handle over 2000hp. 😉 BTW You have a tonne of money in good aftermarket parts. Also, I would change the head bolts, those are stock. They are reliable but are known to allow the head to lift. Pick up a set of ARP head studs.
I really rather have a nineteen sixty five Is mustang
I’d take the cobra for sure
Man I love your channel and cars and how in depth and informative you are. My fav build was that caprice ppv. 💪💪💪💪💪
What's up with the eclipse
Taking the F body baby! great video!
Hope you have a stretch Guage to re install those arp rod bolts
Looked like stock head bolts to me in the original motor an the new motor
LS1 F-Body
Since everybody knows LS-GM Engines are far better than Ford Engines, also LS-Engines ends up in most Mustangs, more often than not.
Firebirds and/or Camaros are far cooler than Mustangs.
Yep 99 cobras just had the regular mustang rear bumper unfortunately
Is this dude related to Mark Rober??
What’s Peter up too
Fbody
What ever happened to your old friend that helped you with this car originally
I would love to see this car in person. Brings back good memories
I had a 2003 Cobra. I would love to find it again.
Yes.. mustang was on 99 cobra bumpers
What year had the cobra pressed in the back
Last bolt didn’t want to come because all the weight was on it
I’m almost positive what happened to the engine I’ve seen it before the rust causes the valve stem to get weak in the spring pressure will blow the valve off that motor probably never blew up sitting destroyed it
Ls1 f body
props to the product placement. gotta appreciate the time he went into for the lighting and camera angles.
