This old Ford Tractor is pretty good! Maybe it’s a 8N? Maybe it’s a 9N? Being the block was swapped it’s harder to tell. Anyway, It get’s a much needed entire fuel system cleaning, complete carburetor swap, and tune up! Then of course we’ve got to test on it! A guy really likes this vintage ford tractor!

  1. Hahahaha I love it man – I have a couple of those tractors myself and at 9:15ish you made me bust out laughing – the number of times I have yanked one of those stupid cowl/hood/bonnet/gas tank holder/fuel pump measuring device/i dont know some crap by myself instead of doing what everyone tells you you must do and like getting one of the teenagers to come outside and 'help', well, it's pretty much exactly like that. "Man that's gonna suck. I should probably get some help. But that's… yeah… hoooonmph! yeeetsk!!". Whatever, those dog leg things bend back just fine…

Then again, I guess you are supposed to ask for help for truck beds and hoods too… Pssh. Then you have to go to the gym and pay other people money to lift heavy junk at uncomfortable angles. Suckers.

  2. I know it's many years later, but if you still have that tractor or any old tractors, a company that you may already knew about is yesterday's tractors they get parts from.

  3. These videos are an invaluable library of mechanical knowhow. Not since Red Green have I learned so much about how to get and keep old cars and tractors running and driving. I feel confident now that a guy can go out in the dingweeds and bring home a fine vintage example of American craftsmanship in internal combustion. Point me to the next patient!

  4. I remember as a very young boy,my dad had a tractor like this took apart in half.! I thought this is impossible it will never be whole again. But he did it..pex

  5. 😂Worth every minute to make it to the plowing… Omfg… a guy laughed right out loud to himself like the joker at batman's funeral and I ain't kidden' ya.

  6. My neighbor has a 9N, and he's never used it more than twice in five years ! But he won't sell it to me…….. He's a city boy and not mechanically inclined 🤣 Not really sure why he bought his property…

  7. I've a 1941 Ford Model 9N Tractor and had a similar problem you're having and there is a screen fuel filter in the carb where the gas line enters the carb and this would plug up every 3 to 4 hours of operation. There is also a screen at the sediment bowl and it would plug a little from time to time. All I had to do was clean the screens and it was good to go for another 3 to 4 hours. Eventually I took the gas tank out and had it relined by a local shop and my problems were over.

  8. Serious equipment for a serious person…..n by that I mean make as many sarcastic comments do the opposite n make it fun to enjoy yup… you're the Man Derick hahaha 😁 I really like the Getto G-unit gangsta farm boy outfit n that gt500 just bumpin the hydro's 😂

  9. Could you show exactly how the 12 volt conversion is accomplished and the use of the coil with the front mount distributor? I have been trying forever to get mine running. Ever get to Nebraska😜
