It’s about time I introduce you to my 1989 Chevrolet K2500 Service Truck. Often the unmentioned hero for me, this old girl pulls, tows, and hauls all my junk all over the US and is typically in the background of most projects haulin parts and wrenches. It was finally time I pulled it into the shop and performed some much needed “maintenance” and such on it.

Hey I’ve got a 96 Chevy k1500 5.7 and it’s throwing a P0300 code i’ve changed all the usual suspects such as plug wires, and rotary button all that any ideas on what could be causing it
I do like those service truck custom trays. Would love to have one. Trouble is the chemically motivated urban dwellers of my 'hood see that type of thing as a self serve utility that could contain stuff that can be recycled via Cashies. And then trashed if they don't find anything. Funny old world we've built.
I know this is a 4 year old vid, but I'm working my way through from then to current day, and Beets is probably long gone but I'd like to see you set up that service tray just so for your tree rescues. You know, dedicated space/storage for your 12' of fuel hose, boat tank, carburettor adjustors, cans of SYB, etc.
I bought a cheap(ish) 1990 C1500 last summer after a huge hail storm totaled out my other rig……while I was already miserable at work. She's got 211k miles, only 30 pieces of oil pressure after a Rotella/Lucas oil change, but zero rust (Alabama rig) and a Gps exhaust. New tires, all kinds of maintenance, oh and the saggy door bushings. Gat dangit, I have to order the snazzy Cunningham bushings. The Dorkman ones are total trash. Anyhoots, what a feller is trying to say is A. One of the best darn rigs I've ever had. 2. Solid reeliabilityeee…fires right up on a 15 degree Mitt State morning. And D, classic timeless styling that I love. Hope to do a VGG rebuild on a junkalated power barn module and keep her going forever. Hope you keep yours going forever too! She's a total babe!

I have one sitting in my shop long bed. New refurbished 350 heavy half ton. Lost interest after my kid came home from Afghanistan and took his own life. Sniper in the airborne. I wanted to thank you. For inspiration to go back to work on it. You have given me a new outlook on life. We enjoy your video's. Now if a guy could get parts with inflation these days lol

k=n filters are garbage technology from the 60's I wouldn't use one to save my life . I don't recommend them over a stock air filter
The major thing I learned from you. Is brake clean cleans everything. How is with toilets? The water doesn't always get rid of everything.

Lots deny K&N Intake does anything. I put a full k&n on my 2004 hemIII and it opened the exhaust up really nice more hp too
“Whambo” doors
Keep those hinge pins lubed. One wallered out on my 1998 Chevy S10 pickup and it cost me $400 to have the bad hinge replaced and door realigned.

Fun fact, Chevy and GMC made the dual headlight design for only the first two years (88 – 89) of the C/K truck line, they moved to the composite design in 1990 for cheaper headlight replacement.

Do you still own this rig? I have a 89 3500 dually and I have the same style grill and she's mint 👌 I'm planning on dropping in a rebuilt 454 bored .060 over out of a roof same year, she's got a tree fitty in her now and she's tired.
