My good friend was quoted $3,000 to perform every maintenance item on his 2014 C300 4-Matic from the Mercedes Dealer. This included items like spark plugs, the B Service, a transmission service, and more. I couldn’t let him pay that so I completed it all for $650 and show you how to do the same. What you’re about to see applies to many different Mercedes models. The master list of cars that share use the M276 engine is down below but you just need to know that this applies to you if you have the 722.9 7-speed transmission that came out around 2005 or the M276 engine that came out in 2010 in some areas of the world and 2014 in the United States. The air filters are different on the twin-turbo version of the engine but the spark plug replacement is basically the same procedure on the naturally aspirated and twin-turbo M276. So you could have anything from a C Class to an ML to an S Class and many parts of this video will apply to you.

  1. I know this video is 2+ yrs old, but it works for me and I just found it. B/c …..I just bought an 08 S550 (a Gma's car) with 27k mi for $10k and there are zero service records other than oil changes at about 5 to 7.5.k intervals. Wanted to do all the deferred maintenance on this 14 yr old car before really driving it and was quoted $2.2k to 2.5k for these services from MB/Euro auto shops, and $3.6k to 4.8k from dealerships (many of the concerned services left undone, such as engine air filter, power steering and spark plugs). This is SF Bay Area pricing. After watching your video and being introduced to FCF Euro, I now know I can get this down myself for about $600 in filters/oil and about $100 in needed sockets/tools to work on a MB. The only thing that remains illusive is the fuel filter (in tank, under rear seat).

  2. Isn't there a risk of pushing the fill tube in the drain hole that you might dislodge the green overflow plug? I know you are being careful, but someone doing this the first time may push in too far.

Honestly, the money you save with DIY more than offsets the investment in proper tools to do a job. You don't have to always use what Mercedes uses, but you should have the right tools to do a job.

  3. Long story short 2016 Mercedes Ben m276 oil cap leak replace new one from the Mercedes Ben stilllllll leak do u have any idea thanks for your help

  4. Do u know why I’m leaking oil coming from the oil filler cap on 2016 Mercedes Ben m276 I went n buy a cap take a test drive n still leaking but not that bad please help if u can

  5. I like it. If I only had a lift, a heated garage, and those tools.😀 Seriously, though. GREAT vid, and thanks for sharing this with us. Incredibly helpful. Even if I don't do all of that service; I know what to ask; and, am more comfortable and understanding of what servicing is getting done at the shop. Best to you, and keep up the good work.

  6. Where did you get the filler tube for the transmission oil bottle that you show injecting the fluid in the transmission? Also if you're not going to drain the torque converter, how will you know how much fluid to add? Thank you, your videos are entertaining and very informative.

  7. For the transmission on this model, just take the thing to Mercedes, they do it with the engine running via the transmission radiator (after changing the filters and magnets, etc.).

  8. I have saved so much money doing all my own maintenance work on my wife's C300 and the last thing I was holding off on was the automatic transmissions change but with this video it is going to be a piece of cake I'm going to order that DP pneumatic drain tool for sure 👍👍

  9. Thank you so much for the video, I’m not a mechanic but I would like to start working on my 2014, Mercedes Benz C300, so I can save money and learn my car better, since I plain owning only Mercedes Benz for the remaining of my life. Please let me know if you know anyone in the DMV area I can go to for my maintenance at reasonably lower price.

  10. So I ended up down this rabbit hole because I was looking at purchasing a used C300 or c250. After seeing how people maintain these things, and just how delicate they are. I can tell you I will never purchase any Mercedes vehicle. Any vehicle on the road this delegate should be considered a factory lemon. Also paying that much for a f**** oil change should be a crime.

  11. I need to replace the main battery in my c350 and I was told that I need to replace both batteries and have them programmed, is this true or can I just go pick up a battery and replace it?

  12. Hey ,I'm a Ase certified Master tech now disabled .I just asked for emergency funds to buy a beautiful Red 2014 benz c300 4 matic sport…first thing I do is a B service with Amsoil Euro / liquid moly/ etc.

  13. Very nice work… Hope your Business go well… People have to Avoid the Dealers.. Believe only Vehicle’s under Warranty go there..Because there prices are an Insane Ripoff …

  14. The transmission fluid and filter change procedure is both infuriating and wasteful. By forcing people to overfill the transmission just to get it to the proper level, I wonder how many million of gallons of oil has been spilled without ever being used.

With a dipstick tube, you get to incrementally fill up the transmission at operating temperature with very little chance of overfilling.

  15. When fitting a new o ring on the oil filter don't forget to apply some fresh oil to the ring. It prevents the ring sticking when you are torquing it down, and prevents ripping. Small detail.

  16. A few years ago I had a 10 year old C class wagon, the one with the joined round headlights and at that time they had a problem with the car going rusty around the wheel arches and back. Here in the UK cars need to have an annual check (MOT) to ensure they are roadworthy, current cost is about £50.
Dealer had an offer on to do a free MOT (to then pick up the repairs found) so I took it in and it passed with no work needed (unusual), while there I casually said "hey my car is going rusty" and they said it had a lifetime warranty for rust. They took in my rusty old car, put on four new wings, a new tailgate and resprayed it all plus a fantastic valet job. Looked like new when I got it back. No charge. I was on top of the world when they just handed me the keys and I drove away.

  17. Holy shit I am so fucked! I have none of these tools and they are so many things to change. I was just doing my service A and B. Haven't changed any of the other fluids. Oh boy
