Many mechanics tried but no one could get this Lexus to start. It was abandoned and the owner was fed up and said if I can get it to start it I could keep it for free! I started down the path of diagnosis and figured it out with just a paper clip! There’s a lot more to this series so I hope you enjoy this one and the videos to come on fixing everything else.

  1. I wish there were a way Alex could donate these to the people who need it most.
A person who's lost their car (theft, accident, impound, whatever) … has no car…
It'd suck if someone who owns 2 cars or doesn't need it won it. I'd make it a filter.

  2. I had a 2002 Ford explorer and tried to rent a trailer from U-Haul and they would not rent it to me because of a lawsuit that happened. When Ford was having all those problems with tires blowing out on their new vehicles people were suing U-Haul blaming them for it so U-Haul will not rent two people that have Ford vehicles between certain years.

  3. That’s right!! Toyota/Lexus!! Add some dry gas…. It’s running rough due to condensation build up from sitting.
I owned a 2004 Lexus es had 348,000 miles only had one little issue with the right door window regulator…. drove like the first day I purchased it! I bought a Mercedes B…. nothing but problems 😞🤦🏽‍♀️…. As soon as I sell of this MB, I’m going back to Lexus!

  4. Nice, i just got the same lexus, while not free, i still got it for a low price. As for that asshole denying you rental, fuck that jagoff. He didn't know shit about trucks anyway. And as for your lightning, id get rid of that bullshit sticker in back unless you want someone to come vandalize it or do a drive by, since youre in Chicago area…

  5. There are so many stupid people out there it’s amazing, especially independent u-haul owners apparently. Call corporate file a complaint and educate them on F150 Lightning especially now since they are reintroducing the Lightning all electric and it can tow a shit ton. What amazing is he physically saw the truck and said NO what a GENIUS

  6. You use of the word "abandoned" is blasphemously incorrect in terms of proper English. Abandoned directly correlates with abdication of ownership, such as dumping an old refrigerator in a ditch—that is abandonment. Someone leaving an old vehicle in a garage for 30 years, yet still retaining the title and full rights to its ownership is not a case of abandonment; that would simply be a case of neglect. Honestly, there truly is no such thing as a free abandoned vehicle. If someone owns a vehicle and drives it somewhere and walks away from it for good, it gets towed away and sold at a public auction or gets sent to a junkyard/crusher. Either way at this point if someone else wants this vehicle or what is left of it, then a financial transaction would have to take place before ownership could be transferred. In the case of someone leaving a vehicle to rot on his or her own property, for years or even decades, this still does not mean this vehicle is abandoned because that person still owns the vehicle and holds the title.

  7. I had the same issue (brake switch) with my 1993 Lincoln a month or so ago. I just put in the “ON” position, shifted to N to start until I could get back home and fix it. I don’t recommend doin this at night though… no brake lights. 😂

  8. I really love seeing cars rescued back to its life .i love cars i used to have but i sell it for important purpurse to build a house. Now the house is done its hard anymore to have another car due to financial. Hope 1 day i can get another one..god knows..keep your doings rescue cars. big thumbs up for you👍

  9. Ya’ll probably already know this troubleshooting hack, but just sharing. About 2 years ago, my 97 Honda civic beater was jacked and joyrided and left abandoned. The goofballs used a similar key that they jammed into the ignition switch to start it. Last month I was doing some errands and the car died on me while I was driving. AAA came over and towed it back home and their scanner said it was the alternator 3 times. The battery was good so I checked fuses and then towed it to a shop where they traced the fault back to the switch (that was a little loose from when it was taken). I was ready to have the alternator replaced so I was happy to have a sharp mechanic trace it back like you did👍.
