A guy bought tires and wheels that were too big for the stock suspension. So I did the right thing and picked up a lift, tires, wheels, bumper, and more! Let’s transform this once abandoned farm truck, into something really cool!

  1. In my 20's living in Montana I had a 77 scout 2. 345 international v8 with a borg Warner 3 speed. Man that thing went anywhere and was quick getting to 65 but took a downhill run to get to 70 but I really miss getting rid of it.

  2. Hi all, I work on old stuff pretty much like you but being a retired sailor I would have to say my vocabulary is a might bit more eloquent.

  3. Elkhorn creek riders retreat in elkhorn city Kentucky. Nothing too harmful plenty of mud holes and very cheap access to cabins I got family that lives a mile from entrance that has a garage & tools if you happen to break anything & need a spot out of the rain. It’s in 41522 zip code brother check it out shouldn’t be too far from you in Tennessee

  4. "Scout ..anything less is just a car "…my late father worked on IH gear for 46 years ,tractors and trucks ..but he never got a scout ..mum would not let him spend that amount of money ..

  5. Would be a good rig to make a "bug out vehicle", "prepper vehicle" You know it will run on anything for fuel and go almost anywhere and have great pulling torque for a small trailer. Could be a great couple of episodes upgrading it. Of course when, yup…when, things go south you will be able to be mobile.

  6. Before u throw money on a overhaul, diesels have basic specs that need met like a gasser does. There are many things worth checking first. As always, love your show and your fantastic family

  7. It may have no guts but it sure sounds the part! Looks like it could use 1" more lift in the back and will look even better with the spacers. Get some low gears for it and drive the heck out of it!

  8. When or if you rebuild the diesel engine please post it in the way you done the 300 ford six cylinder. That video was great. You really took the time and went thru it very thoroughly and educated us. Thank you for a great show!

  9. Derek i highly recommend PB blaster for rusted fasteners or anything stuck. That stuff is magical. Make all your work with rusted rigs much easier. I never use any other after using this stuff.

  10. Originally I was in the USN Seabees and home port was Port Hueneme, CA I knew 2 guys that bought older Scouts (1964's ? ) that were USN Surplus, looking back ! I wish I would have bought one, there was a number of them for sale thru Military Base Property disposal sales

  11. To each is own and like they say it looks good from my house!!! But i think it looks really good but i like when the raw medals was lighter.. i remember the revival video i couldn't get over how good the patina looked!!! But the lighter color is more natural looking put the dark looks better just depends on if you want it to look real good or for it to look real natural

  12. I know I’m way late to the festivities – 2nd go around watching and don’t even know if you still have this rig but here’s the advice I read-
could get a bigger turbo for it and turn up the boost would help ALOT!

  13. I WORKED AT INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER IN THE YEARS THIS WAS POPULAR Delivered parts in one , owned one just like it NEW ! I loved it and still dream about it. I Would love to own one again.. I wold buy it.

  14. They were not fast but super capable off road. Friend of mine has one built nice they crawl hills cause diesel don’t care like a carb does. 👍

  15. I almost bought one of these new…until I discovered they’re so grossly underpowered they can’t get out of their own way. It’s essentially useless unless you build something from the bones.
