  1. Exact same thing happen to me buying lightning. Was raining and they didn’t want me to beat on it but claimed it was fully sound. Owned it for all of a day until getting on a highway was very obvious there was something up with head gasket. Supposably has arp studs already, still going to probably swap them to arp 2000s hoping it never happens again

  3. Probably never tuned it with that pulley upgrade and it over boosted the engine. The problem i see with most people on these is they push that factory eaton well beyond its limits and if that motor is not built to handle that then stuff like this happens.

  4. Hey Alex. I need to try the test where you said don’t do this at home cause I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 with no heat but I changed everything but the rad. The shop thinks it’s the way the truck is but when I bought the truck the previous owner said he had the head gasket replaced but I’m wondering if it was done incorrectly or didn’t get the head checked. Thank you for explaining things in your videos so well and why you think things could be the way they are. Keep up the good work

  5. A mate of mine blew his RB30 on way home from fishing trip– leaking radiator hose -but temp sensor was out of the water and stayed reading normal and his motor went boom driving down highway at 150k/mh

  6. I know this is an old video but I just went back and was watching the lightning videos, I had an 03 cobra a few years back that had the exact same symptoms. No smoke, full power, and the coolant didn’t even turn milky after flushing until I beat on it again. Turned out to be head gaskets also.

I was wondering if it was your intercooler pump not working and it was your intercooler fluid spewing out but apparently not mine went bad and didn't know it and soon as the intercooler fluid will get hot it would spew it out the cap on the intercooler Reservoir. I replaced it with a Davies Craig high flow intercooler pump about a third again more flow than stock did and it made a huge difference. You probably know this but don't go too high of a flow because it won't give the intercooler a chance to do it's job and actually cool the fluid off

  9. Sorry to hear about the heads on your Ford, I had a similar problem with a Camaro I used to own. After doing a power flush I had to machine the heads…

  10. dont forget the temp sender unit has to have coolant against it to detect the temp,as soon as the coolant goes low it will normaly show the motor as cool,even tho its cooking hot!,its amazing how many folks dont concider that! fact!.

  11. folks who design cars should be made to work on them,once had an alternator change on a nissan primera sports+r,was an engine and transmision out according to the dealers to remove the lower alternator bolt,fuck that,i cut a hole in the inner wing replaced the alternator and welded a plate over the hole and painted it,how mental is that!

  13. I have a built 403 stroker that was originally a TT setup before I went vortech Ysi. Anyway….the meth nozzle wasn't tightened and got sucked up into my block. Made a very small hairline crack in it and literally took it from a vicious lobe sounding cam to a non cammed z06 idle…along with just a little water coming out the exhaust….ran fine but damn.

  14. simpler solution to see if pressure is getting into the coolant…… put a T into the hose from the radiator to the tank….. than put a mechanical pressure guage on it and run it up to the wiper blade and go for a drive. if you get into boost , pressure goes above the rated cap pressure…. guess what? lol
