I found a dealer auction, clean title E92 M3 with only 48,000 miles! It’s been sitting in a parking lot for about 3 years and the owner wants to sell it. He said the engine may be bad and so naturally I’m interested. Enjoy!

  1. Yeah this was definitely a beat car & with that low of miles & that interior I don’t think that was right either? But you crack me up, Mercedes are way harder to work on & way more of a nightmare then this car! Especially if those miles were correct! The rod bearings are junk on these, so that’s a must! But that is one of the best V8’s ever made, best sounding without a doubt & those transmissions are bad ass! I’ve never heard of anyone having issues, not even with blowers on them! If you take care of these these can last a very long time!!!✌🏻🏁

  2. Its honestly sad how much people beat on sports cars. My moms 2012 Merc GL450 with 92k miles with only 1 owner looks brand new and the interior smells new. 30 service history records in 8 years. I bet you this guy didn't hit 3.

  3. Totally agree a right lemon , here in the uk a car like that even now at crazy prices is looking at £18k gbp with rod bearings and throttle actuators done , interior is not a 48000 mile one probably been clocked and also all the bodywork and those shocking wheels walk away better content out there for you to,post on yt

  4. i have a similar story with a semi rare e92 but not an m3. i found a 2007 335i that the guy said had blown engine for $1400. it had a wrap on it but was super super clean… i show up to test drive the car and instantly i recognize the problem. its just blown turbos . car drives just fine but howls like crazy from the bad turbo. i tell him hey the engine is good its just bad turbos and theyre cheap to replace. he insisted he was a mechanic and that he knew the engine was bad. i said well okay ill give you $1200 and he said okay. i drove the car 6 hours home with blown turbos, it had 0 issues mechanically, no leaks, everything was in perfect condition. i had a set of pure upgraded turbos from my other 335i and i put them on and tuned the car on e85 for about $3500 into the car and i drove it daily for two years all over california but thats not even the best part. i peeled the wrap off and it was java green. it turns out all dealers could option any e90 in all bmw paint codes and there were a few factory java green 335i. i now own one and ive got like maybe 7k into the car including the price of the car itself. best deal ever.

one thing i can tell you about the modules in the e chassis though, if your voltage is off even a tiny bit, EVERY code will pop up randomly. if the battery isnt at least 13v when running, it will cause low voltage issues down the line in the modules and your can signals will be off. every bit of data between all the modules and the dme is literally on a 2 wire circuit. can high and can low. these two wires control EVERYTHING in the car. they are very sensitive to voltage drops or spikes. on a e chassis thats been sitting for years like this, its best to replace the battery entirely, monitor the dynamic battery and alternator system to ensure voltage is above 13v when running and then clear all the adaptations and let the modules all relearn. then chase the fault codes after you do that because 90% of those codes will be from the fault memory and not active faults due to the battery voltage being low. i own about half dozen e chassis cars and theyve all had some sort of voltage issue at some point.
