  1. From my brief armchair research, due to an interest in owning one of these things, it appears that the borgwarner 4409 unit has been problematic since day one. Forums from 2001 discuss it needing to be replaced or rebuilt every 40,000 miles. You get any closer to finding a good replacement unit? In addition, has it been fine since the rebuild? I feel like figuring out a strong transfer case is essential to having this be a reliable trail rig.

  2. I love watching you solve problems. You are a great mechanic. But I am a but surprised that you don't use more anti-seize compound on things under the car and on exhaust parts. I slather it on almost everything that is down low and likely to get nasty-rusty-stuck.

  3. Alex, what offroad park is this? I'm in Dayton, OH and a few hour trip to the other side on Indiana isn't a bad drive. The Toyota group I'm part of is always looking for new offroad parks to check out.
