I bought a Buick Grand National out of a storage unit in this video! The car has been broken for about 10 years, but we take an entire day fixing it on the road and driving it home! Enjoy and let me know in the comments if you’ve ever owned a Turbo Regal!

  1. Hey Alex, the only reason the car was dying was because you let it die…

I thought you had it after you said you were going to 2 feet drive it!

  2. Dying with gm cars is always crank or cam sensors Nissans are bad about it too I have fixed dozens where people had given up on the car and it was the crank or cam sensor

  3. Wow, you really do not have a clue about cars do you??? Oil on the sparkplug threads has nothing to do with the condition of the motor!!! You are supposed to oil the threads so they don't seize!!! Grand national with a speedometer that tops out at 75 lol!!!

  4. I dare to say somebody put something in those cylinders to keep them from rusting. But it could be blow by from it sitting long periods of time then being started then sitting long again etc I have seen it before The rings just need to scrape off the scale and actually be driven. Nothing worse vehicle than setting.

  5. Those ignition modules are “magnavox” style modules. Retro fitting to a more modern “Delco” ignition module and coil packs really helps these out a lot. At least the N/A pre series 1.

  6. To be honest the fuel filter would of been in my top 3 to replace..dump out all the old fuel as well, since water ends up in the tank really quick from sitting.

  7. Oh my. These turbo Buicks, this and the Riviera are the biggest GRENADES GM ever made (I’m a retired GM Tech). Back in the 80’s I was in retail sales. We had a Riviera T-type with the same power train. It was 4-5 years old and it NEVER EVER ran right. I feel some PTSD coming on watching this video lol. We sold it to 4 different people and it came back every time. It finally started on fire with a very unhappy customer and that was the end of it. I’m only 40 mins in and feel sorry for you guys. The Riv & GN turbos looked amazing! Eventually guys dropped a V-8 in these things. The 70-80’s Jags people did the same. Ours was an 85. Maybe this one has hope, but I seriously doubt it. My advice is to unload this grenade on a greater fool! Looking forward to watching all about this thing, while listening to weird noises from this thing and the inevitable rack time it’s sure to enjoy! Enjoy!! lol 😂

  8. The issue with Grand Nationals is 95% of them all got stolen in the 90s and they are probably the highest vin swapped cars on the planet. you necessarily don't need nothing but a real Grand national title and a Regal to make one. I used to work at a dealership and so many of them that came in for trade ins that turned out to be stolen regals that the owners bought not knowing so they wouldn't even take them in on trade.
