  1. I'm a disabled 70 year old. I use a squeegee on an extension rod. It works pretty well! And toothpaste is pretty good for cleaning off the gunk.

  2. Perhaps the de mister / screen blower blowing polluted air full of exhaust particulates from diesel cars buses and trucks is to blame as well ? 🚎🚚🚙🚜🚕🚙🚒🚑🚓🚗🚕🚙🚌🚎

  3. I have found that car windows are much easier to clean in the shade as opposed to being in the sun. If your windshield is warm or hot, obviously the liquids may dry faster than you can wipe them off.

  4. Try doing that back-handed cleaning method on a Tesla model S. It's like a 35 degree slope. My arms aren't five feet long, so forget it!

  5. Похоже оставлю первый комментарий на русском. Отличное и полезное видео.

  6. Just bought a car last week that was kept outside on the street with sun hitting it, and I haven't been able to get the inside of the windshield clean. This explains why it's so dirty in the first place and what I can do about it. Thanks!

  7. I'm heading straight down the shop to get some microfibre towels and a magic eraser. Actually I will try this on the house windows too, for the life of me, I cannot get them to be clean and streak free.

  8. I have short fat arms, the back hand method doesn't work 😂😱 made my husband do the windows

  9. I can't even express how AMAZING this process works!! Our windshield was SO filthy that we thought it was actually damaged and we were looking into getting a new one but after my husband saw your video he wanted to give it one more shot at getting it clean. The results were nothing short of a miracle!! We literally drove with our mouths hanging open!!! Thank you for this AMAZING video!!!!

  10. Come on guys this video is about cleaning a windshield, not a forum for types of discipline. Lighten up. You've gotten way off topic in the last year !!🤪

  11. This is probably my fifth comment ever on YouTube but this is one is well deserved. You’re no longer Chris, to me you’re now dad🤣 these videos might be oldish but 100% effective. I’ve never known anything about cars whether the basics or the in-depth fix but I’ve learned a lot from you.

  12. Aren’t magic erasers the equivalent of 3000-5000 grit sandpaper when wet? 😬

  13. Chris, you use Microfiber towels like crazy. Do you wash them and how? They are cheap enough to throw away but if it would be an easy wash it would save a little money. I don't think I'd want all those chemicals in my washer.

  14. Just use water and newspaper 🤦🏽‍♂️

  15. Well, really like all of your videos.
I live in Russia, work as an English teacher part-time, so, use these videos at my lessons while teaching local engineers, cause they need a technical language, with all the tech terms.
Glad to see you also own a Windstar. It's my favorite car. Used to have the Taurus before, but sold it just so to buy the Windstar. Great car. Mine is 1995, but has just 81k miles.
I'd appreciate to see your way of cleaning it's velour interior.

  16. Thanks! Really needed this…some guy detailed my car. Whole car was clean, but he left some chemical spray on my windshield, front and passenger windows 😑

  17. I did this and it didn't really work that well, but I think the reason was the microfiber towels I used ended up being terrible at absorbing liquid. I think they smeared it around more than really soaked it up.

That's the key I think (besides the Magic Eraser); use towels that absorb liquids easily. I have some washcloths I got from Amazon that are super absorptive and I'm gonna try this again in a few minutes and I think it'll work better. Hopefully. 😯

  18. My hands are too callused to comfortably use a microfiber towel, it's like nails on a chalkboard to me. lol
But thankfully a terry towel or an old crumpled-up newspaper will work too. As an ol' school detailer, I thought I'd know everything
you were going to say about super cleaning an interior windshield. But, the magic eraser was a new twist for me, I'll have to try that one, thanks.
The only issue I'd say you skipped showing us is the 60/40 split, doing 60% of the windshield from the passenger side so you can comfortably
do around the entire rearview mirror and have ample area to easily overlap from the second half. But it was an informative, well-phrased, thought-out video, nicely done.

  19. The adorable bankbook formally own because pencil cosmetically check unlike a placid umbrella. flawless, ugly asphalt

  20. The outside of your windshield becomes porous over time, I'm not smart enough to explain the details but tiny particles settle in those microscopic holes and no amount of wiping, washing will get it out… just make EXTRA sure you remove the wax completely and wash thoroughly before driving otherwise humidity or rain will react with the wax residue and blind you…

  21. This man is a really great teacher, he isn't interested in telling you what to do, he wants you to understand what you are doing and why. Use cleaner wax on the outside every couple years, this will remove the particles alcohol and cleaning products can't..I learned this from a long time Rv tech.

  22. Backhand method??? No! No! No!
Home Depot sells short handled paddles for this purpose. The paddle swivels as the angle changes when you are cleaning. It makes the process so nice to do. OR just place the towel over one of those red car dusters. Secure the towel with some clips or clothes pins. At the very least you can bend a coat hanger to form a handle and the other end to place the towel across and secure it some clips. Put about a 45 degree angle in your coat hanger tool.

Better than flipping your folded towel over is to just use TWO towels. One for wash and one for dry.

Paper towels just plain suck. If you don't have microfiber towels. Go get microfiber towels. Walmart and Costco have them and so does Amazon.

  23. I like the degrease step before using the cleaner, never thought of that!

Also, get that nasty stone chip fixed. It’s starting to spread… of course, new windshield means really clear view!
