well done,thnxamill!
This is the first video where he starts saying "hey guys" in the intro
You would be much better off using a line wrench. Especially if its really rusted.
A whole brake renovation
Loved the bloopers at the end. Thanks for doing all of the hard work of recording and editing so that you can help us know what to do. THANK YOU!
We saw a part of your face!! Thanks for another helpful video. And now, out to the garage to do it.
Loool at the end you inhaled too much brake fluid
i have the same problem like this
Glad im watching this im doing this to my civic tm morning and have never messed with drum brakes
Is it generally ok to reuse the cylinder links?
Nitrile gloves are cheap. Good vid ðŸ‘ÂÂ
Great tutorial! I'm amazed that you didn't use a line wrench for the hard line. I've rounded one before then I had to use Vise-Grips to remove it.
Great video man.
Is it one or two of them (crush washers)? I found just one of them on the Banjo Bolt of the old cylinder, but in the pack for a new set there are two of them. Where does the second go? 2001 Saturn SL2.
You are very good at this.
Very nice video, thanks.
ChrisFix watching and support here Al Khafji Saudi Arabia from General Trias Cavite Philippines… Thank for very informative vlog… Always support here More Power and A Bless Happy Holidays!
Hey Chris im stuck i removed the two bolts that hold the cylinder and removed the line with the bleeder but it's seems stuck i tried to hammer the cylinder with rubber one it didn't move at all . Im afraid to brake something or maybe there is another thing holding it but i couldn't find it im working in (c1500 suberban rwd 1999) any tips will help .
I’ve watched all your recent videos and now I had to go back for this. Glad you made it
Mazda had a really simple brake drum setup. Honda… not so much :
Do you ever look back at your old videos and feel more accomplished of what you become now Chris?
This is how Hey guys started…
Damn ChrisFix without gloves!!?!?
I don’t bleed brakes that way I go the old way but everyone’s different I have the person in the car push the brakes like 15 times and tell them to hold it then I loosen the bleeder screw and then tighten it back up while he has it pressed to the floor. Great video though
Those bloopers! ðŸ˜â€Â
Brake line nut frozen to line ?
Remove Cylinder and spin whole Brake cylinder to unscrew line .
Good idea !
Hi chris. Juste for the French translation of the title of this video. It is "Comment remplacer un cylindre de roue" .
You are doing good job but here I don't have good materiel for doing the job correctly
Good video but should have used a clear tube to stop the mess and watch for bubbles, that was a technique 7 years ago….
The first “hey guysâ€ÂÂ
Heey dude, I think this this a first video where you launching the famous intro "heeey guys"
Love you man……🇩🇿
This is the very first video he ever said “hey guys†in the beginning of the video 😼
Is it necessary to keep installed wheel drum while bleeding cylinder?
Watching Chris's videos more than 5 years ago is like going into a completely different YouTube channel
Note that if your just doing the cylinder you just have to remove whatever is holding the shoes in place in the cylinder to take it out
Excellent video 🙂
I’m watching all his old videos to see how his intro is evolving. Quite a fascinating discovery I might say.
Help out big time
Helpfull video… Thnks chrisfix
Great video! But probably should have clean the vacuum cover. Before reinstalling the new one first.? Also should have kept up with the brake fluid level during bleeding. Can also do the bottle bleed if you're by yourself.
Anyone can help me out. When i removed the brake line no fluid came out. I cannot bleed it. I was able to bleed the front calipers only
Hey @Chrisfix is it recommended to change both cylinders at the same time or doesn't matter? Or if anyone know the answer. Thanks
Great video.
Thank you for the effort you put in to this video Chris. I liked the bloopers too lol.
Look at that driveway real estate! I wish I had a driveway that size. Keep up the great work man. My car has drum brakes too.
Let it be known that this was the first video Chris started off with "hey guys" 7 years of great quality content, you are an inspiration
Hey Chris, hope your well
I have question I'm in a bit if dilimier, I've got car on stands at moment.
I'm doing a service clean and adjustment for the rear back brake drums. I was just checking the wheel cyclinder for leaks under the rubber Gromet seal but I manged to pull it off and abit of fluids come out and poured on to the bottom cornor of the shoes. I used break cleaner stright away and lightly sanded the shoe area.
My question are:
Do I need to change wheel cyclinder ?
Do I need to replace the shoes (pair)?
Do I need to bleed just that one wheel or both back wheels or do I need to all 4 wheels?
functionable
