  1. I saw something on YouTube the other day bleeding brakes. By yourself. The guy took the top off of a spray bottle hook it to the hose and pump the air out of the brake system. I saw some air leakage but that was after the bleeder. You are sucking air out of the wheel cylinders and calipers.

  2. Chris, the tubing with an inner diameter of 1/4" has an outer diameter of 3/8"…Can't I just use a 3/8" drill bit to make the hole on the cap?

  3. Glad I saw this video because in your other video I didn't see the little air vent you added to the bleeder bottle. Perfect ready to do it myself thanks to you again.

  4. Quite a few naysayers out there. Everyone wants to tell you how they'd do it better by giving their sage advice…. but this is a "how-to" video. Not a "tips for experts" video. Specifically shot for people like me who wouldn't consider themselves an expert. Well done, my friend. And I enjoyed your brake-bleed video as well. 2 thumbs up, and keep up the great work.

  5. Chris is a smart guy but I get a chuckle when he does dumb things, like drilling the cap while it's on the bottle and then saying you'll have to clean out the bottle again 🤔

  6. 1/4” ID🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤭🤭🤭

  7. Great tip, Chris! 😁👌🏽

  8. You rock! Straight to the point on your videos and not too much info. Thanks. Subscribed! 🤩

  9. This video starts with an oil filter / suppressor add the keeps recurring. People are being arrested and investigated because these are illegal. Why is nothing being done by YouTube? This video is great, but the add is a legal trap to anyone watching it. Do not click on the add, you will be added to a list of people of interest. You tube is flooded with videos of people being investigated. Suppressor are legal if obtained legally. Buy this stuff and ruin your life. There seams to be no way of reporting the add, without attacking the channel. So I refuse to report the channel when they are not responsible.

  10. Hey Chris
Thank you for all your videos. I am a DIY mechanic so I don't do a lot anymore. I have done many brake jobs and made a bleeder like yours from a peanut butter container. Works well. When I had an F250, I did a brake bleed on it – I understand doing a bleed every three years or so is recommended. I am doing a full brake job on our 2011 Subaru Forester over the next few days. On the video for that, I learned a few new things. Very grateful for the OUTSTANDINGLY WELL DONE video. This video is the best one I've seen on this topic. I appreciate your teaching skills.

  11. Not so fast–didn't work out so well! The Fixer…I love him like a brother and greatly value his outstanding DIY videos, but here's some constructive criticism to make this process work the FIRST TIME for a DIYer. I tried the homemade bleeder kit shown in this video and it was a disaster!

  12. Ive been bleeding brakes like this since 1985 . I first saw the method in an old GM Manual .
I find that a glass jar ( like a Pace picante sauce ) works good .
I dont use a top , just put the tube in the jar and dont let it come out or let the fluid get too high or low .
People would tell me " No that wont work ! " .
    But It works great .

  13. Couldn't you just use an oil can, fill it up, and pump it through the slave cylinder bleeder valve? Basically filling it up from the bottom, since air travels up, and watching the master cylinder air bubbles go away.

  14. Built and bled and my truck stops on a dime. Thanks mr. Fix you saved me a bundle 💰 , once again.

  15. When you buy the 1/4" I.D> tubing, look at the O.D. dimension listed – that's the size drill bit to use for the bottle cap.

  16. I replaced rotors, Brake Pads front rear both by my self, I saw that my bottle/reservior is having some muddy sand inside, I unbolted it out in order to clean it with carbi choke, I did so, I clean it, ran through some brake fluid in it before installing, then installed it, I bleed all four wheels starting from the farthest, heres a thing now, When my car is shut off, the pedal is rock hard, but when its start its spongy, also when theres a bump during brake its giving me a feeling as if something scratching down(although this same feeling was there when the pedal was nice and smooth before changing the brakes), please help?? My car is Acura TSX 2008

  17. replaced clutch master cylinder & slave on wife's car, the THE BRAKE & CLUTCH SHARE THE SAME RESERVOIR after bleeding the clutch cylinder the clutch pedal is hard now, will bleeding brakes need to be done? any help is appreciated.
