How to diagnose and fix a blown out license plate light. The bulb in this truck was visually burnt out, but that doesn’t always happen. Sometimes the light looks fine and really needs to be tested with a multimeter. If the light is not blown out then you have to see if there is current getting to the light socket.

My tail lights is not going off even if the car is off what do you think I should do
Old vid I know but I was always taught to use something to measure the oil that came out, easiest is a pan with some sort of measurement on the side. Then when you're adding the oil back you add back the same amount, (provided it wasn''t overfilled in the first place), this gives you a good place to start and helps prevent overfilling if you're a newbie.
No "hey guys…chris fix here" ðŸ’â€Â
What do I do if the cable is rusted out? I have a 2017 Acadia Denali and the license plate light had water in it and now the cable is rusted
How did you take the bulb out ?
Thanks, i learned a lot in a few minutes. This was very helpful.
What if there is no current flowing through the wires

why do license plate lights always get that black before they burn out and all other lights on my car not and burn out way earlier

Thank you for the simple info. It kept me from having to go to a mechanic to change these lights! This was very helpful!
Hi Chris, the owners manual of my car doesn't say it have a fuse for the license plates lights. It only shows the fuses of the other lights. Where could this be? I'm sure it should have a fuse somewhere in the fuse box.
Hey Chrisfix, what do you think of LED license plate frames? My old lights for my truck are burnt out and the sockets are not sitting where they're suppose to be. Wanted to go to the aftermarket path with a LED license plate frame.

My car comes with plastic light lenses.
Do you know if it is possible to get a bigger license plate lense?
I have some white led's that are a little longer than the original bulbs and it quite wont fit back with the plastic lense….

Yea, just discovered yesterday that both my licence plate bulbs were not working on my Camry. pulled out the bulbs and found they'd both blown. Decided to upgrade and replace them with LEDs. And shit their are a lot brighter lol.

To be honest here, because things change all the time I came here to make sure I knew what I was doing and after the 1st few seconds I had my answer on how to take the bulbs out.. The video was a big help but gave me a laugh because I could just see someone just needing a light and going through all that for nothing. LMFAO BTW – my wife says I'm a smart ass! Anybody agree why her on that? 🙂

How can you get red ones?

Why am i watching this? I don't have license plate lights. In fact, i don't even have a car..
How do you remove a frozen bulb that is stuck in license plate light socket?
And what do you do if there's no power going to the bulbs? 🙁 I changed both of mine and still have a malfunction warning on them
Chris, I changed both license plate bulbs on my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. I checked to see that they worked then screwed is back on. Problem was, I saw a short (guess I should have turned off power when screwing it down). Now neither one works. What fuse would that be? Where is it located? Thanks for all your help!
