Part 2: http://youtu.be/qGpojymCRNU
How to troubleshoot your gas dryer, how to fix a gas dryer, gas dryer wont heat, fix a dryer that wont heat. My gas dryer would not heat up so I will show you the four main pieces in the rear of the dryer that should be checked using an ohms meter. It is very easy to do and ANYONE can do this. Just to get this thing checked by a technician would cost $100. Then any parts, which are 4x the price you can get them at, plus $100 or more an hour for labor. By the time you are done, they will charge $250 to fix your dryer (half price for a brand new one). This job takes 1hr if you take your time, and the parts cost under $10… Please like the video if it helped and comment if you have any questions at all.

  1. Imagine my surprise when I see your account name on this video after I just finished changing my brakes by watching your video and then my dryer broke. Lol.

  2. Thank you for going over the meter use. I was able to find the problem rather than buying part after part just guessing. Again thank you very much I replaced the ignitor my dryer is drying again!!!!!

  3. what happens if you switch connections? 1st thermo was RED-BLACK… BLACK RED… @ 5:48, you put them back up the other way… now it's RED BLACK… RED BLACK.

    great video! 😀

  4. you made a mistake in the video. you hooked up your 2nd thermocoupler wrong . you put your red wire onto the black wire connection. other than that good job

  5. I hate working on rusty vehicles, but I love the videos. This is the first I've seen you venture in to other topics. Thanks!

  6. If I’m not mistaken you put the black wire from the second thermostat on the bottom which belonged on top and red on top which belonged on bottom

  7. Good problem solving process. The one odd thing that really helped out is around the 8 minute mark. You said check the new parts to make sure they are good. After troubleshooting for a while, I tested the new part and sure enough, it was defective. Replaced that and I was back in business. Thanks.

  8. I wish you were here right now cause I would give you the biggest high 5!!!!! I have seen hours of videos today and NO ONE explains or SHOWs everything close up like you. God bless and much appreciated!!!

  9. Thanks CF. I listened to Sears guy and bought the coils, nope. Then bought the fuse cuz you did, nope. Then got a meter, it's the bottom fuse. I took the Wong way around.

  10. Didn't expect to find a dryer video from you… Anyway thank you!!! I had the exact same issue as you. What a cheap fix. Cheers

  11. This was a great video. I didn’t check my thermal fuse! Doing that right now. Thanks again!

  12. Excellent! You saved me $600. I actually bought a new dryer and had to send it back because it could not fit through my doors. With desperation stepping in, I decided to scour the Internet for a solution. I can across you video and the rest is history. Problem solved for $5.00 and my other $695 is back in the bank.

  13. So my thermal fuse would not read at first, then it was reading, then it wasn't, then it was. Am I holding the little multimeter connectors wrong or is thermal fuse in the process of going bad?

  14. Hey Chris. I have a Samsung gas dryer. The dryer ignites, but the flame shuts off after about 4 to 6 seconds. It doesn't get hot enough and it takes 2-3 hours to dry a load. I've changed the thermistor and hi-limit temp sensor, but no change. Any idea what it could be?
