In this video I tested Lucas Deep Clean. I use a mini borescope camera to look into the engine and see how dirty the engine is before the fuel treatment and then after the fuel treatment.
I followed the instructions on the container and Lucas performed a little better than Techron and Gumout. This is the 4th test in a series of fuel cleaner test I will be performing to see how fuel cleaners work and if they actually work.

  1. You are supposed to drive the dog shit out of it . Just like your on the dirt track . Keep it in low 1 and rev it high . Thats the only way it works . An Italian tune up. Beat the carbon off of it. LOL

  2. Chris my car cut off.on the interstate after 1.5hr of driving home. Do you think putting this cleaner in the gas tank will get my car to start. It cut off. Slowly and will NOT turn back on.

  3. The Lucas complete clean that looks like a can of sea foam to me feel like it’s a bit stronger of a formula I have gotten some p0420 catalytic codes come up and I put some of the Lucas complete clean in my tank at about a quarter tank drive for about 20 miles then fill it up and it will turn off the catalytic code

  4. Have an 04 Mustang GT with 275,000 miles. Trying to find the best chemical to help clean the fuel injectors. Thanks for the video.

  5. A cheap and easy way I found to clean carbon from pistons, or also to clean varnish from a really dirty carburetor. Is to soak them over night for about 8 to 12 hours in a 50/50 mixture of PB Blaster spray, and Gum out carburetor cleaner spray.

  6. I think I would need a gallon of it and use it within a monthly period. To see how long it would take to clean the engine entirely. Oil passages to intake valves.

  7. Look at your before and after pics again – there is a lot less carbon; it just darkened up the bare metal in a lot of places from absorption of the oils in the additive into the metal

  8. 4:03 don't bang the nozzle on the fill inlet like that. It can cause a spark and and with then fumes and gas right there🔥🔥🎆🎆

  9. Between this and the techron, it seems that either or would work the same. Better than the other brands you tested, but between the two, the big takeaway would be to use it in high concentration over longer terms. Probably would make sense to use 2 bottles on every tank regardless for about 6 months to get a significant clean in order to make a noticeable difference in overall performance. Well at least for the cylinder heads. However, from my own experience and comparing notes with the other comments I read here and your techron video, I think its safe to say that the biggest impact would be the results of the injector. As long as the injectors are good to go, then the performance will significantly change and results will be noticed almost immediately after a tank or 2.

  10. Why not run a tank full of premium fuel through the engine at highway speed and check the cylinders. The detergent in high test gas should do a better job.

  11. great video thanks
I started using lucas gas treatment in a 2008 Honda element with 14,000 k on it. I put some in at every gas up. for about 3 years now i always use top tire gas mainly shell. this is not the deep clean shown in your video. i don"t think the lucas is as harsh as some cleaners so it can be used often and the price is right for this . The engine does run smother and quieter and i am getting maybe a bit better mileage but this could be that i switched to synthetic oil. I really got it because it claims to lubricate the motor and keep clean the injectors witch it seams to do. To get rid of a lot of carbon build up i think something stronger that is a one time use and yes i think after many tanks of gas with lucas may show better results
    thanks dan

  12. Hi Chris! I love your videos…I am an automechanic student and trying to get rid of a lean code. Are any of these fuel additive cleaners actually effective at cleaning the injectors/fuel system?

  13. As someone who knows almost nothing about cars, I have a question. Has anyone thought to spray some treatment onto the pistons and maybe let it sit overnight and then run it? Would that loosen the carbon deposits up more?

  14. I used this product on my 13 genesis coupe for thgefirst time. the car has 44000 miles. It has added 40 miles to the cruising range. incredible. Im a non believer when it comes claims made by ….. well salesmen but I tried this at my daughters recommendatrion and Im shocked. I didnt notice any change in performance but thats ok. Ill add again when I change the oil. Im in.
