It’s that awesome time of year once again for the Duct Tape Drags, in Tucson Arizona, at he Tucson Dragway. This year we brought our 1940 Chevrolet Gasser out for fun. It’s a 454, th400, and some Oldsmobile rear-end with a terrible highway gear. None the less, we’re going to see what it runs, and also shred some tires!

  1. my wife and i love your videos and appreciate your content, Hopefully one day we get to meet you, we live probably 50miles from you so it could happen. My wife uses your sayings all the time now, like when she farts she says her butt is sparkalating lol,

  2. Derrick is in his element and has such joy on his face watching / participating in this. Thanks for all of it VGG. Love and prayers for your family from one of your extended family/ friends!!!

  3. I love your channel! Can't wait to see more Pantera content too, even if it made my feed consist of 33% Pantera videos lol!

One favor to ask you though…can you please change to 30fps? Especially for action content; 24fps introduces massive judder during the conversion, it's really annoying and hard to get through sometimes.

  4. Derek, me and the Wife was at a Peddlers Mall indoor flea market and I found something that I had to get for a feller… I do believe it’s the perfect gift for a guy who loves Sparkalators as much as I do… you won’t be disappointed and you can always incorporate it into your Goin’ ta Town attire for a universal feeling of freedom and being a part of the world and gives others an inspiration to do something and not just be a cold snack depository super glued to the couch and suffer from the life threatening RA no not rheumatoid arthritis but “Remote Addiction “😂 Love ya’ brother!!

You will see it soon at your PO Box From The HomeWrencher!

Us fellow Sasquatch’s need to smell good… even though just smelling like a Sasquatch is good enough for the gals we date😂

  5. Well, I finally made it to the DTD. They say you never want to meet your heroes because you will certainly be disappointed. I met Darek, Jessica, and the boys … While not exactly my heroes, I was not disappointed. I'm sure you all know what I mean. Just spectating this year … Maybe I'll get a vehicle ready to participate for next year.

  6. AG-1 is hella expensive, has no vitamin-d or iron, and may give many people stomach issues. If possible, get a sample and try it before you buy it.

  7. The VGG burn out pit was awesome. To give a fella or fellet that normally wouldn't be able to, to be able to… Very thoughtful of you Derek to give everyone a chance to play… Getter Duuuun.

  8. TLDR: Just want to say I love the channel, you do what I'd love to do, wrenching and racing. Your rescues of old abandoned classics reminds me of the "mountain" fixes and "let's just get'er home" mentality I grew up with in the Sierras. Due to watching Derek and his videos, I have my own garage with a couple of classics I've taken on as projects. I love this stuff, and can't wait for the next vid every week. Good job Derek, keep it up!

I stumbled on to VGG by accident about a year ago, and have been enthralled by it since. Growing up in a very rural area, having to make sketchy repairs or swap parts that might not necessarily be the best due to lack of options, I felt like I'd grabbed onto a part of my childhood again, learning how to wrench on the old Chevy step side. Or my first car at 16 (was a wonderful bit of insanity) and losing the alternator and strapping on a new one with plumbers tape, fixing blown rad hoses, JB welding cracked exhaust manifolds etc etc.
**Note, don't use a pry bar on an aluminum timing cover of a 88 Ford F-150… not a good idea (my step dad was a bit peeved having to replace it HA)
