Take a 1 or 2 gal. tank and insert a couple of fittings for your brake lines toward the bottom and a tire valve stem in the top. Move the vehicle’s brake lines from the master cylinder to the tank fittings.
Pour a couple of quarts of brake fluid in the tank and pressurize it using the valve stem.
That will give you a pressurized system and, with plenty of fluid, all you need to do is go around all 4 wheels and crack the fittings at the wheels and they’ll bleed themselves. No need to pump the pedal.

My late Mother's oldest sister, who has passed on too. Had a 1970 Cadillac El Dorado convertible gold with that same white interior. A truly stunning car. Even though this is a different body style it has so many similarities that can't help but enjoy the series of videos bringing this great old girl back to not only life but her former glory, truly great cars that we won't ever see again the likes of.

On them drum brakes you don't even need a camera just only take apart one side at a time and if you get confused you just walk around the other side of the car and take a look

Derek for future reference when looking for a hard to find caliper like the one for the Cadillac, cross reference the brake pads against similar vehicles. I found nobody had calipers for a 68 Cadillac and mine wouldn't come apart to rebuild but I found 68 chevelle calipers were the same bolt spacing and used the same pads. Only difference was the Chevrolet calipers were like 1/16 larger bore size and the brake hoses were different. The worked out great, cheaper too.
Derek's rebuild kit:
– 1x Break cleaner spray can.
– 1x Carb cleaner spray can.
– 1x degreaser spray can.
– 1x Black paint spray can.
– 1x deodorant spray can.
– 1x Little trees air freshener, bourbon scent.
– 1x Tonya Harding.
– 1x Vice Grip Wrench.
Those break calipers appear to be almost identical to my 79 Firebird. I think GM used the same one throughout the 70's with minor variation. I'd hope by now you have that sorted out but if not…research some other GM parts and you may find one that will bolt right in.
Derek – PLEASE do a video about upgrading an old single phase brake system [in cars built before the late 60's] to a modern dual phase sytem. So many people buy classic cars, get them running well and never think about modernizing the brakes. I have heard horror stories about people who spend a lot of money on a classic car and drive it, only to find themselves owing a pile of scrap after the old single phase brakes fail and they wreck the car. I really want to know how to modernize an old brake system! Thanks.

For interior cleaning I use foaming tire cleaner. It cuts grime and funk and when scrubbed and vaccumed it takes smells away somewhat. Then I use a citrus smelling product to freshen up carpet and seats and headliner and whatever else I sprayed and scrubbed and vaccumed. A lot of times I put a candle (and don't light it) in trunk and let heat make the candle make the car smell better. Also carwash foam on air induction for AC will help clean smells out of HVAC. Just my opinion.

Teach your sons the important things in life. Attempt no job unless plenty of Brake Clean is on hand. And always buy it by the case. The cheapest you can find.
One of the few potions where cost makes zero difference in quality.
Tip: Use Never Seize or Red Line Synthetic CV grease on the rear drum adjuster threads. That is a must. Leave the exposed threads bare, however so they don't gunk up with debris.

From now on it is Sparkilators, too!! I'll never say spark plugs again.
What is the one single thing that you want on hand every time you dive into a project under the hood or chassis? For me, its Brake Clean. I buy it by THE CASE!!!! Chlorinated or un. What ever is cheapest at the time.
Don't forget two different size brake shoe's per side in the rear. Front shoe's are the same size..Pay attention small shoe location on the rear axel. Also different springs size for each shoe and adjuster at the bottom spring fellers.
Great job once again 👏 👍 calipers were not replaced just rebuild them with kits check something like pick up calipers measures piston size and take parts from it seal and dust seal is 95% of kit I must have done 1000 of them in dealership
