That be a apple peeler, fer shur
Something's going on with the drive train. Sounds like a universal joint?
It's really beautiful scenery with the leaves on the trees.
Kinda feeling, idk, just wish someone less fortunate would have won
Derek you really need to switch to Rain-X washer fluid the orange stuff it doesn't freeze it keeps the bugs off the windows and you don't have to keep applying Rain-X to your window just hit the squirter a couple times and you're good to go that's all I use I don't use the blue washer fluid honestly can't stand the blue washer fluid after using Rain-X cheapest place I found to buy it at Walmart everywhere else it's like $2 more
Has anybody noticed that windshield wiper that's short. I'm afraid it's going to scratch the windshield.
Awesome drive that tail of the dragon. This video makes me miss my ‘71 Nova. We dipped her wheels in the Atlantic and Pacific that summer , back roads all the way. Great video, thanks for sharing.
twas but an apple peeler that had you vexxed my friend!
That thing you looked at in the antique store was a apple peeler.
Yes, I can tell you all about the tale of the Dragon. My GPS brought me up it and threw it with my 40 foot country coach motorhome. It was not a good time thank God it wasn’t busy, but that was my first experience with Taylor of the Dragon, what was really bad as well I was going down the other side. There was a 52 foot semi coming up. It was quite sketchy.
Glad to see a veteran won that beautiful car and it was so sad what has happened to that community and many more that is surrounded that community😢 and vgg has over 2 million subscribers if we all put in $2 a piece think about what all that would do to help them fellow Americans I have been a fan since the beginning of vgg and I don't think I have ever seen Derek ask his fans to help we can do this
Redneck revival
In the junk shop, that was an apple slicer/ peeler. They work SO good! GREAT VIDEO! Hope the new owner has tons of fun with the Nova!
Man, it would really be something to ride a motorcycle on that road. Be safe. Keep up the good work if nobody told you lately I’m proud of you son.
I've rode The Dragon Tail on a Husqvarna TE 511 Enduro back in 2013 and tried to do it on the back wheel. Til I got pulled over by a on coming sheriff. Thanks for sharing your ride.
What is that knocking while on the turns in the dragon?
Too bad the Dragon burned last year. That is why you seeing all the dead trees.
Odd seeing Derek driving a shiny car with brakes and doesnt have a gas can as a passenger.
Been on top of the Dragon many many times glad to see they finally paved it. It’s incredible on a bike✊
Hi from Canada EH! Just wanted to say what an incredible human being you are Derek! The words you said about Asheville and the donations etc sure says a lot about what type of man you are! The cars and trucks are great but you are the reason I watch the VGG.
Cheers 🇨🇦
it looks like an apple peeler!
Question: is anyone hearing the clicking noise when the car makes a right hand turn? Or is it just me. Either way it’s a beautiful car and I love the show. VGG has a heart of gold. Thank you for your show and for sharing your journeys with us. I like how you get your kids involved. If you ever get the chance and you like the turns of the highways try going on 55 to perryville Missouri then make a right turn onto 34 and follow it to marble hill.
God Bless you and your Family!!!!!!
Derek there are multiple diffrent roads real close to the dragon. I prefer the foothills parkway myself, Motorcycle or car.
Bye the way the bridge you crossed at the dam is the same one in the two lane blacktop movie.
If you ever decide to come back this way, let a feller know and we will go see some awsome views.
Dad said slow down before the curve, not in it.
Chevy short bed step side
APPLE PEELER/CORER
A feller took that road a few years back in a 2003 mini cooper s, broke a rear trailing link no biggie 100% worth it.
I really hope you get a chance to find a great fixer upper from LA, CA and can visit and help the Americans on the other side of the country too. Thank you for everything you do by walking the walk!
Umm…might want to get some wiper blades for that cat before it starts raining or snowing. Lol😮
I drove the Dragon in August of last year in a 2003 Toyota MR2 Spyder, had an absolute blast! Drove down from Pittsburgh, Pa, driving the full length of the Blue Ridge Parkway to get there.
MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN LET'S BUILD CARS AND TRUCKS THAT GOD WOULD LOVE TO LOOK AT NOT THIS GENERIC JUNK FOR PUNKS MADE TODAY !
I went in 2014 on a Crotch rocket with friend and brother . We came in from South side . Much better from south to north . I didn't see the motorcycle tree in the video.
I used to bear to hunt it years ago and ran across some old timers that were hunting, and the back of their truck had gravel in it .I ask them what it was for and they said we put it in the curves so the motor cycles would wreck 😢I had some choice words for them idiots and one girl wrecked and got hurt I told them exactly what they looked like and what they were driving I never hunted it again.
It’s time for some VGG 👍👍
I live in Spartanburg sc and rode my Bike on the tail of the dragon a few times. Both ways are equally good imo.
If you ever get out to Denver, CO, be sure to try to visit the Forney Transportation Museum, very similar to the Virginia Transportation Museum. Has many antique, vintage, and classic cars, plus trains/locomotives. A "must see" if you visit Denver.
wife planned trip there didnt want go But i did and Boy was I amazed how that place built Take the Butler Tour…….. It's amazing
Derek, thanks for the trip down memory lane. When I was in college in Knoxville, that was literally my path over the river and through the woods to my grandmother's house, when she lived in Murphy North Carolina. I have driven that road dozens of times in sports cars, to mini vans, and everything in between. Since then, I've lost my ability to walk, and drive, so this was a very nostalgic, if a bit bittersweet, video to watch
Potato peeler?
You should also check out the Cherohalla skyway from Tellico Plains TN to Robbinsville NC.
Antique store find is an Apple corer/peeler- wife uses one like it when she makes Apple pies.
Love the channel- great videos and family content. All the best to you!
Hello Derek, in the antique museum you were looking at an apple peeler/slicer/corer.
I’ve used many and broke many while making apple sauce.
Thanks for the ride
I was also just at the tail coming back for a family trip just before new years stayed at the hotel sweet spot.
If you would have kept forward on 129 and gone through Robbinsville? Turned left onto 74 and then right on Wayah road? You'd be only 10 miles away from a guy and it's also a really fun and beautiful drive
What a great video. Derek, if you had been on The Dragon earlier in the day, a company called "Killboy" usually has photographers in the tight corners taking photos of all the vehicles that go by. Just make a note of the time you're there, and the day, and you can go to their website and see their pics of you. There are some other awesome roads in that area. Cherohala Skyway is spectacular, and Wayan Road (1310) from the Nantahala Whitewater raft launch site towards Franklin is awesome also. My brother has a camp right ON the Nantahala Whitewater, just a short distance upstream from the NOC, and my buddies and I go up there and stay for days at a time on our motorcycles.
probally a really good junk yard close by.
Mr. Derek I have road that road back in the early 90s with a few friends and we had a blast
She sounds strong .
that's a tater/apple pealer…
