  1. A generator can charge your batteries in an emergency and move you slow to where you need to go. Connect with me if you want more details.

  2. Boats are DEAD WEIGHT, you back off the throttle, theres no coasting like a car, gas OR diesel powered, they're under a load 100% of the time, your size boat, STAY DIESEL!

  3. Ever heard of DIESEL/ELECTRIC submarines! It should be possible to get a fairly good range from the combo … Hopefully without submerging the boat. 😄

  4. Diesel, safer. Gas fumes more volatile than diesel. Drove semis for a living. Have to keep check. Oil life of any engine. Gauges fail. Trust them not.

  5. havent even seen the vid but i will say HELL YES, make it electric engine ffs, you could use solar panels and have unlimited fuel,if your battery bank is big enough it really could be unlimited electric motor power :), and if you want the foot pounds to move it across the water electric motors can give you massive ammouts of it .

  6. B is for rebuild both of them and while that's happening, fix everything else.

Then after you launch it, fix the next thing that breaks and clean in between. Repeat until you sell it.

Don't forget to get screwed by everyone in the marine world and worry about the boat sinking due to open hatch, faulty bilge pump, plugged drains, sabotage, or natural disaster.

Enjoy your boat!….2 weeks a year.

  7. It would be cool to have an ev boat if you could generate electricity with the water somehow with some sort of water generators like a dam does

  8. "B" is for "boy did you step in it when you bought this boat". Anything but a rebuild on existing engines would be complete insanity. 750k price tag new and it brings 42k in the sale used? Roughly 5% of the new price…..You'd see me running the other way, fast. Did he even do a survey on the boat pre-purchase?

  9. Rebuild for sure. They will be less problematic in the long run. Seen multiple diesels with 40,000+ hrs on them with not a lot of issues other than common things such as injectors and obviously fluid changes and little things. Like you said they are made to keep a constant rpm while delivering peak torque/hp.
