Here’s a trick. When it doesn’t have the silver “thing†to keep it pumping, use your gas cap. They are literally the perfect size to keep it pumping.

You actually can leave it running and pump fuel, it’s the static electricity that causes dangers when someone gets in and out of their carpeted vehicle then going to touch the pump handle
