There is something absolutely RIDICULOUS about a crew cab, long box truck, with a parachute running down an airstrip! Even more ridiculous is when we find out that same DIESEL truck has been over 200MPH! While the Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack in Colorado Springs, Colorado is no Bonneville Salt Flat, there is still ample room to go fast! While the team here didn’t hit their target goal, they still had a good time trying as they ROASTED tires a 1/4 mile into each pass! This 1/2 Mile event is presented by Shift S3ctor and every year the event presents us with some of the most unique builds!

  1. Hell yeah more diesels👍🤘 🇺🇸

  2. My neon launches faster than that. 😂😂😂

  3. As a diesel owner myself, I'll never understand throwing money at a diesel to make it fast for unloaded racing. Sled pulls, sure. Drag, and apparently 1/2, 1 mile, and Bonneville racing… Absolutely a waste of money lol. There's gas trucks doing more, with less. Less engine, less power adders, less problems, more importantly less money, and the big one… MORE consistently. Diesels are for towing and sled pulling. This shit just blows my mind. Y'all can build two extremely stout gas trucks for how much is into this truck, and still have money left over… one truck for the 1/4 mile and one for the standing mile, and it won't take 14 1/2 years to spool and it won't smoke the audience. Nor will it take 2+ turbos and/or nitrous to show any sort of impressive speed. People will be people I guess. Still waiting for manufacturers to throw a turbo or two onto gas V8 trucks so this fad of thinking diesels are fast will be over. Slap a turbo on a Vortec, Hemi, or Coyote truck and you'll think modding a diesel to go fast is a waste of money. Hell, go throw some money at an EcoBoost truck and you could upset plenty of diesel owner feelings.

  4. I'm certainly no expert on diesel engines, but Gale Banks would shit a brick if he saw how much black smoke/unburned fuel was coming out that truck's exhaust off the line. A proper tune would probably help wake that truck up from a standstill.
