Jeff Lutz has a close call when his chutes don’t deploy at Pittsburgh Raceway Park on a 200mph pass with a 7.11 E/T. He locked up the front tire & saved it just before the end of the track!

  1. No sweat to a man like Jeff.

Been there, done that, got the T shirt.

How the hell he pulled that up so quick from 200mph is impressive by anybody standards.

  2. Impressive performance and skill from both the car and driver.

All race tracks should add a sand trap at the end of the strip much like the run-off lanes (on freeways with major elevation drops) used by big rigs when their brakes fail.

  3. Damn he really did get real close to the sand pit at the end of the track. I've gotten real close like that before. Came down the track at 7:14 at 198.45 chute didnt deploy locked em up and needed new brakes and new slicks cause i had flat spots.

  4. this guy is so cool me and my brother are customers of him and patrick barnhill and this is nothing to him lol he wasnt scared or nothing this was just a shot of wake up juice to him

  5. @1320video What day of drag week was this? Hopefully not the first! Great driving and quick decision making by Jeff on that one.

  6. @FoxQuadRider1225 That was a GoPro HD that 1320video uses in combination with the suction mount provided in the GoPro Motorsports kit.

  7. What a nice car. Amazing the performance that is being reached these days. I love reading our European friends who knock our push-rod engines. It has to be jealousy.

  8. takes guts to come out alive like that without a single scratch after this stop….amazing skill to stop that monster pass …hopefully he'll get a new chute after this for sure…
