You should have made a tilt front end with the hood, fenders, and cowl all one piece. and have it tip forward.

That fender rust was crazy consistent throughout the whole piece. I'd bet its a result of the previous owner's paint job or something like that. Really didn't look that bad to this northerner.

If you at least tried to fix the fender and couldn't I'd forgive you for at least trying. But saying a panel is trash with 0 holes in it and not even trying to fix them even though you are going to bare metal/filler/primer/paint/clear the car anyways is completely sad. Seriously just youtube how to restore rusted panels. You have a media blaster ,mig/tig welder and you going to use filler anyways. Stop being lazy and fix something properly and not just half ass a project. When you are working on old cars you have almost 0% chance of getting perfect panels, so you will need to learn to restore panels. Much less work than custom fabrication.

Hunk of junk , the bondo job it will take to make right will not make a good car , drive it 1 time hard and the bondo will crack /or fall off.

PLease do not keep that rear flare. It does not line up with the body and wheel and modifying it will just make it worse. Try to mod the rocket bunny flare or go for something else. There's other flares out there that should fit your needs.
Stop wasting good Datsun parts! They are increasingly hard to find. Fix it or sell it to someone who will; don't just ruin them because you don't want to put the little bit of body work into them to make them right…

If you sand to bare metal or have bare metal make sure you use etch primer or the paint will not stick.

I just realized you may have problems with the grill. Doesn't the old hood hinge push the hood up and away? Your hood just pivots. I wanna see how this works out.
