Riding in a turbo cobra chasing Huber’s 9 second 4 cylinder turbo mustang. This clip came out of the 2007 Drag Week DVD from 1320Video.com. The track officials weren’t too happy about us going that fast with a passenger and no helmets! LOL

In hindsight it was pretty dumb, but damn it was funny as hell at the time!

Good wheelie shot of Huber’s stang as he makes a mid 9 second pass at Cordova (he was having tuning issues all week, should have been running low 9’s)

  1. I'll ask the same question I asked in another Ford 2.3L 4 cyl video. Is this the early model 2.3L found in 80s Ford SVO Mustangs, Mercury Merkur XR4TI, and Thunderbird Turbo Coupes, or is it the newer model 2.3L "Ecoboost" engine?

To a previous poster who complained about the pointlessness of hot rodding a 4cyl when you could have done it with a V8, you are missing the point. The very fact that a tiny 2.3L 4cyl can pull a Mustang through the lights in the 9 second range, is an incredible feat, and its a testament to the strength of that engine. Its impressive to do 9s with a big block V8 in a stock body car, but it's incredible to do it with a Pinto engine!

  3. this would be a perfect vid shot from a nitrous car racing a turbo car. cuz they jump out front and then passed half track and cry. lol

  4. well a 4banger had its place in MPG but almost anything can be done with a sacrifice of money. My geo metro gets 50mpg, 70mph is an achievement, it has 258,000 miles on it also an achievement. could i make it a 10sec car? sure but it sure as hell would not get 50mpg any more. the vast majority will ask WTF WHY! so instead i keep it as is and spend my money on my 54 f100 and no im not putting in a ford 4cyl because the cool factor in a 98 cobra v8 is so much higher.

  5. that 4cyl will not last very long, the V8s will. some of the pro guys running 9sec imports only run them twice and rebuild. I was talking to one and he said they do it to save on parts because if they blow it is all gone. doing it after 2 runs down the track they re-sleeve the block and all new bearings and pistons.

  6. hahahahaha nah I'm actually pretty fucking happy. and Ive seen those s2000's lifting the wheels… 1000hp with a FORD rear end.. and they still only lift a foot or so.. they only run 8.50's.. the mustang in this video is probably around 600 hp. and probably with STOCK internals.. and it runs 9's hell with race internals and more boost that motor could make 1000hp and run 7's

  7. On the comment you replied to, Flag it as spam. I don't want anyone to see it.
I don't want to remove it either and it needs 2 or more people to flag it as spam.

  8. I meant that was kinda fast in a way. 120 km/h is what you can go sometimes here in germany, it is fast! The quarter mile is very fast.

  9. Ya I cant believe it! I cant imagine police cars going only like 70 mph!
Here during little construction just a little you can go 80 kph.

  10. Wow. Thats not that fast. I live in Germany.Over here you can go 120 miles per hour.
Unlikely ou guys. Ha! You can t even go 90! I can go 90. I want you to go to Germany.
