7 people injured after hot air balloon crash l ABC News

1. My grandparents were in a hot air balloon crash. There were only minor injuries, but one person crushed a metal water bottle with their hip. Hot air ballooning seems like it could be more dangerous than it looks.

2. Doesn't look very remote. The balloon literally dragged across a major, well used automobile trail.

8. Just the other night I had a nightmare about being in a hot air balloon accident. So frightening, hopefully the people injured have a quick recovery.

They should have waited and flown in the albuequerque box, much safer of a flight, at least thats what i here, the vegas area and northwestern arizona area is bad area for ballon flights, the wind is predictable just not the wind gusts, you have more chance of low level wind shear in a hot hot desert area like the mohave dessert, the sonorian desert isnt as hot so it is good flying weather, new mexico i think is about the best, for safe balloon rides,

17. I just did a hot air balloon ride outside of Vegas on Mon . Luckily . It was like floating on a cloud and I didn’t even realize that we had landed. , It was so smooth, I thought I was still hovering a little. However, the pilot informed all of us that landings are tricky. The worst type is if a sudden gust of wind unexpectedly appears which could turn the entire balloon & basket on its side. Wishing a complete and speedy recovery to all of the victims who experienced this nightmare🙏

24. oh yes, every time a hot air balloon goes up, 2 come down in a crash. hot air balloon crashes are very rare, that's why it makes such sensational stories for the media. !! America has More Mass Shootings than Balloon Crashes. You're safer in a balloon than you are at your local retail outlet, church or school.
