16. The Backstreet Boys & *NSYNC may have been more successful near their formation if they were more of an R&B group 4 the time being. BSB actually began w/ an R&B sound, which was urban enough 2 get them an appearance on Soul Train & a song on the Booty Call soundtrack, but both groups would've been better off back then as white teenage versions of the Temptations 4 the early-mid '90's

36. Lou Pearlman is a crook. But comparing to todays K-Pop record exectutives? Lou would look like an altar boy. Yes he stole money and I am not saying that is right. But at least his talents did get a taste of the VIP high life. They got to stay in posh hotels, and eat at 5-star restaurants, and even hang out with all the toys in his mansion. Sure the talents did not know they were paying for all that through recoupment but compare that to the shit K-pop artists are put through which is just tantamount to human rights violation. The artists live in a tiny dormitory close to the practice studios. Every aspect of their lives are controlled. They can't have friends, own mobile phones, or even see their family. On top of the 18-20 hour work schedule they need to eat nothing but cabbages to maintain their skinny look. I mean that shit can literally kill somebody. On top of that they get 10% of every dollar they make and are made to pay for everything. It got to be so bad it would take a couple of suicides before the Korean Government intervened.
