1. I hate these kinda vanity stories. Sure it was a nice deed for the moment to help a struggling single mom but all does is perpetuate many of societal ills including bad decisions by single moms, wage inequality and the notion that charity is effective. It’s not. For every single mom that gets $800 worth of charity only because it’s the Holidays and people have that compassionate mood, there are a million+ single mom who get nothing. And that’s because we need much more than simple charity including labor reform and wealth distribution including a minimum wage that has caught up with 1960s inflation. Instead we choose to indulge ourselves with these innocuous sentimental moments.
