Something tells me he had a problem with his linkage instead of a transmission failure.. Its not that 1600hp wont rip a tranny apart (thats what he said).. It looks like they were hooking up somehow, so that Getrag could break that way. From my limited car experience, it seems like cars usually break the gear that they were using instead of the whole set of gears, BUT I will admit that I dont know a ton about the technicalities.
