“Alaska PD” brings viewers to America’s Last Frontier, where the line between civilization and lawlessness can be razor thin. Chronically shorthanded police departments across the state must turn to officers from the Lower 48 to fight a soaring crime rate. For the “newbies” it is a trial by fire as they learn first-hand that policing, like everything else, is different in Alaska.

In a state where guns are carried as part of everyday life, officers often have to protect an entire town by themselves while enforcing laws many are unwilling to follow. They face numerous dangers found only in Alaska, not just from people who want to be free from the rules of society, but also from encounters with predatory animals roaming through town and sub-zero conditions that can be deadly and unrelenting.

The series will follow Alaska’s law enforcement in Fairbanks, Kodiak, Kotzebue and Petersburg.

A&E leads the cultural conversation through high-quality, thought provoking original programming with a unique point of view. Whether it’s the network’s distinctive brand of award-winning disruptive reality or groundbreaking documentary, A&E makes entertainment an art form. Visit us at aetv.com for more info.

  1. Mike Smith could have saved himself with civil rights. Supreme court ruled that suspicion isnt a crime. Therefore unless you legally have to identify yourself, he didnt have to relieve his info.

  2. What I love about this program is they don't add the theatrical music and sound effects. It's straight forward and doesn't treat us
like we're idiots who need to be entertained every second.

  3. When they give you the name “Mike Smith” you know there about to go to jail

  4. Mom right and you out, that's brutal. I don't think she realises she just ruined his life. Not gonna be able to get a job. Makes going to school point list Makes going to school Pointless, And is just going to go to jail and come out worse than before…. Way to go mom, There so many better ways she could have handled that

  5. They didnt have to ask for his name bc he didnt commit a crime , suspicion is not.a crime and you can not be charged with failure to identify only if you do not identify yourself after being arrested , they didnt have right to ask him to open his social media , without a search warrant, bro shouldve stayed quite, he didnt need to give his name in the first place
