A brother and sister had a close call with a large shark that approached them while they snorkled almost 500 feet from the shore.

The kids’ mother said that while the encounter “rattled them pretty badly,” she was sure they’d be “back out there soon.” https://abcn.ws/30QI5CR

  1. Lol one time, I was snorkeling and these people were snorkeling and saying “I’m not going down there honey.” As dumb as I was, of course I go down into a underwater cave with these HUGE sharks just glare at me from in the inside of the cave. I go up to the top of the water and the two sharks come out. I got my butt out of there pretty quick😂

  2. Too close for comfort in my eyes, I would have screamed too… how do u control fear? Spearfishing in d ocean might get u spearfished…

  3. Just FYI people …if you are in the water and in a similar situation, you don't have to shoot the shark. We are not on their menu of things they eat, so when they come close to us they are investigating what we are. Sharks don't have good vision up close so they follow their nose and if need be they will take a test bite of something to see if its something they would like to consume. This is where most of the shark bites occur. What you need to do is give them a quick nudge on the nose and they will leave you alone. Most of the time sharks will not approach you and will steer clear of humans. They are inquisitive and sometimes will swim close to check you out.
Now why not just shoot and kill the shark. Sharks are declining in population faster then any other species of the world's oceans. This is due to over fishing and pollution. Sharks play a vital role in the ecosystem of the ocean. They clean up most of the dead animal carcasses in the ocean and are generally the oceans garbage disposal for a lack of a better term.

  4. I wonder what Russell was doing with that spear gun a few minutes before the shark came to investigate. "Hey Sis, lets go spear some fish in the ocean. It'll be cool!"

  5. Sharks are drawn to yellow this was there fault for invading the sharks home. Im just happy the shark didnt get murdered.
