I don't know what's worse, what actually happened to her, or how the military responded to it, tried to distance themselves from fault, & especially how they treated her family!!! Disgusting!!!    dered . To many lies the C.I.D. and military mislead, misinformed the family, lawyer, and congress woman. They are hiding and protecting the guilty. The commanders in Vanessa's company need to be watched and Survielled period.

14. I think that part of the problem is the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Why wouldn't you want state and local law enforcement involved and assisting in investigations of this nature? State and local police have no direct legal authority for enforcing breaches of the UCMJ. They like to keep it "in house."
