7. It seems to me that many of these Central American countries are run by drug cartels and crime bosses. Their governments are either complicit or unable to do anything about it. How do you change entire regimes? If we try, isn't this called "colonialism?" Why should America involve itself in a coup? There will be blood on our soil if we get too involved. It seems to me that any "attempt" to fix these corrupt countries we would have be covert. Why should American taxpayers back this project when many Americans don't even have healthcare? Why is Mexico allowing these people to cross borders too? The only long term solution is to make life livable, healthy, and prosperous for the common person in these stricken countries but we can't even get this right in our own country. How can we make necessary changes in other countries so illegal immigration isn't an issue?
