To many of us car enthusiasts, cars are more than just a mode of transportation or a ‘toy’ to take out on the weekends or race. They become a part of our lives, we meet many friends through a common love for them, and can even be a great way to bond with loved ones.
This video highlights just that, a very touching story about one family’s lost “family member”, a 1951 Business Coupe that was sold over 25 years ago. John and John Sr. had regretted selling the car for most of that time because of how much time they spent together working on, driving, and racing it.
Recently, the car was re-discovered at a local car show, John’s wife could see how heart breaking it was for him to know where the car was, but couldn’t afford to purchase it just yet. He was even considering selling his bike that both of them loved to ride together. Angela, his wife decided to surprise him by contacting the buyer and purchasing it to surprise him! We came along for the ride to see the unveiling.
Watch this video to see the family re-united once again and welcome it back into their family with FOUR generations of the family’s racers / car enthusiasts (John Sr, John, his son, and grand son) present for this great day!
Three weeks after this was filmed, I received a text from Angela with the sad news that Johns dad (John Sr.) had passed away in his sleep. We hope this memory is something they can look back to remember such a great day they were all apart of!
